"On Feb 28, the Johor state development committee met with Mr Anwar in Putrajaya. The prime minister agreed to
RM4.7 billion worth of projects for Johor, including those that will improve connectivity with the SEZ.
These projects include wider accessibility and transport aims such as upgrading immigration checkpoints and highway development."
"Dr Rosli pointed out that.... the ART system, which would cost around RM10 million per vehicle, would be "much cheaper and more immediately available" for Johor to implement. "
https://www.channelnewsasia.com/asia/johor-...economy-4162461From the look, Johor state plan to kick start only the Phase 1a LRT project, which cover the whole stretch of 11.7km. Hard to say if it work, if we based on LRT 3 and Penang LRT project, it's 500 millions per km.
So this 11.7km stretch might cost around 5-6 billions.if using ART might be use just 10 million which the 4.7 billions given still got balance.

Transport analyst Rosli Khan, managing director of MDS Consultancy, told CNA that the HSR could cost the government RM120 billion in operating costs in the coming years as well as the estimated RM20 billion to construct the Johor LRT system.
Dr Rosli added that with the government recording a RM1.5 trillion national debt and other debt associated with the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal, it would not be fiscally prudent to engage in such huge expenditures.
Transport experts also suggested that to lower cost expenditure, the government should consider replacing the proposed LRT system in Johor with an Autonomous Rail Rapid Transit (ART) system proposal.
ICoE-Rail’s Assoc Prof Nor Aziati outlined that the ART is a trackless transport network, running on roads. The carriages use sensors to allow the vehicle to automatically follow a route defined by a virtual track.
Oh
The transport experts.
If built on the road, the car lanes would decrease. Currently, Jalan Skudai or other big road on JB experiences significant traffic jams on mornings and nights......
If one or two lanes are reduced, the traffic jams will surely worsen.
Did he come to Johor Bahru before?"

We should built LRT or MRT like KL.
https://www.straitstimes.com/asia/se-asia/p...nsport-ministerI will not believe anything that is not announced by the Prime Minister or the Transport Minister.
How many Mentris Besar of Johor before have said we will have MRT or special lane for bus or water taxi to Singapore, but it was never implemented?
This is like 狼來了story......
