I tried to sign up for outlook.com, google.com e-mail address and used a CelcomDigi number for phone OTP verification. For some reasons, CelcomDigi cannot receive such OTP SMS for new email account verification. If I use a Maxis number, no issue. What's wrong with Celcom?

During PADU registration, CelcomDigi numbers also had the same problem and couldn't receive SMS OTP for first 6 hours until they rectify the problem.

When you say CelcomDigi, which one you are actually in

Celcom or Digi.. they're one company but lines are still separated

I think must be Digi, you need to call CS and report. Last time I Digi, couldn't get OTP for Google. I called and reported, now ok already

I had no issues with Celcom

It's Celcom.... I did call them and they said my sms is fine but in actual fact, it is not because when I use Maxis or UMobile number, I receive sms.

Recently, I ported into CelcomDigi and have been unable to receive OTPs for over a week now (even though some say it should only take 72 hours). I can’t even receive OTPs from CelcomDigi itself when submitting inquiries (then OTP sent via email). I keep submitting inquiries, but they don’t address my questions. Instead, they simply tell me to contact the bank and then mark the issue as resolved. This is extremely unprofessional. Before porting in, I had no issues receiving OTPs.

I can’t believe this issue has existed for years without being resolved, as I discovered through a quick search online. It seems CelcomDigi is simply avoiding the problem rather than solving it. I’m now planning to port out to Maxis.

I’m currently facing an issue with one of my Celcom Digi (yellow) numbers where I’m not receiving OTPs, and as a result, I can’t log in to Telegram. Initially, I thought the problem was with my number, but I’m not sure anymore. Has anyone experienced this before or have any solutions? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Telegram may send to other devices of yours logged into telegram instead of sms, double check that

But this is a new number

I’ve never used it on Telegram before.

I was supposed to receive a call, but it didn’t ring. Then I tried SMS, but I didn’t get any message. Finally, I even used the email option, but there’s still no reply.

I finally received my OTP automatically about two weeks after the date I ported in. Upon researching this issue, I found comments on a Singapore forum suggesting that the bank might be sending OTPs to the previous bank, requiring 5–10 days to update. This aligns with my case. I feel that telcos should inform customers about this in advance. If customers are aware of the situation, most would likely just wait patiently, knowing what’s happening. However, CelcomDigi failed to provide this information, wasting customers’ time as they try to figure out the issue, leading to complaints and plans to port out.
