Yahoo! has released a new and updated version of its messenger which brings it to 9 Beta. It appears to be a major update.

well, it's BETA stage, what do you expect...
 it's weird though, as i can install it without any problem, i even installed it over the old version, no need to uninstall or whatsoever... the down side i only found is... i wanted to match with my black/grey theme of mine... but i couldn't  |

I cannot connect to YM server without activating the proxy. YM 8 has no such problem as long as my IE has enabled the proxy.
