turn on ppk and listen to a song.
then let it run songs for about 5 mins,
and listen back to the first song.
and then lemme know if u still find it doesnt have bass.

i didnt say anything about comparing stock cable with thames.
i just said compare bass on ppk just turned-on vs ppk after running songs about 5 mins.

fyi, a lot of things sounds harsh when upping volume.
reason?

1. the worse will be u are pushing the speaker beyond its limit, this will do permanent damage. fix - lower the volume, or try with different phone/speaker. usually this is not the case with ksc75, the driver have high limits, but still, dont overdo it if u want it to last.
2. ur output starts clipping, hence distorting the upper / lower end of the sound. fix - use different dac / amp. its possible more because of dac.
3. ur output power is not clean enough or starts dropping, or starts distorting. fix - use better amp, better power source or batteries.
4. ur source sux - the song is low bitrate, or recording is distorted, or the dac is not good - use better quality files or better dac.
5. ur ears got problem. - seriously. try cleanup ur ears. sometimes having 'floating' earwax will cause u to hear those distortion. sometimes, ur hair is touching the driver, hence distorting the sound.
6. ur brain got problem - u interpret normal sound as distortion. - sorry cant help u on this one.
