is ksc 75 nice for listening rock songs, jazzy songs, classical more to old songs richard marx, diana krall etc

Stock KSC75 not so clear, bass a bit-- wild (admittedly this is out of box impression, and was a while ago; don't take my word for it). Recabled much improved, tighter, much clearer details and separation, improvement to bass, very punchy, improved presentation overall. Again, this is my impression from earlier this year, several months already... It does just about everything well, actually. Rock, pop, choral, orchestral, instrumental, vocal, semua boleh. I listen to just about everything, so I can say that yes, KSC75 recabled works for just about everything.

Listening to 'Elo Hi' sung by Ofra Haza, her voice gives me goosebumps. So does Azam Ali's singing on 'Inama Nushif' from the Children of Dune OST. Cesaria Evora's crooning in Creole is so smooth... And Kansas and Dream Theatre makes me ROCK HARD with the recabled KSC75. Super enjoicing, ttyal...

Any idea how Hippo Amp compare to E1 using ksc-75?

Hi. Are you new to the world of audiophiles? Welcome to where we chase after the ultimate eargasm then.

What cans exactly are you planning to use with the iPod? Also, usage pattern? KSC75 works nicely in the home in a quiet environment, but don't bother trying to use them on the KTM or similarly noisy environment. If you are going on the move most of the time I'd suggest IEMs. The KSC75 benefits from amping, and PcWork's recabled version does well with the Hippo Amp (not the Hippo Box, they're two different amps) for those with limited budgets. The benefit of not using things like the E1 is that since they're player agnostic, in case you ever trade out your iPod you can use it with other players, and you can also use it to amp from laptop/CD player, etc.

Still before I looked into amps, I'd start by looking at the files I was playing from the iPod. Cans before source before amps before cables.

Do you intend to use lossy files (mp3 etc.) or Apple Lossless? If mp3 what bitrate? The KSC75 is rather revealing of bad sources, seriously. If your source is crap, it WILL sound obviously like crap with the KSC75, amp or no amp. In fact for crap sources, amping likely would bring out all the flaws even more.

Added on November 3, 2010, 3:48 ami think another thing about the recabled is whether u want everyone to look at u cause those cables is certainly an attention seeker i too prefer iems when ur wearing it around since its also much easier to wear and remove it..like if someone talks to u. earclips still stand out too much if u do mind.

ArianneG: Yes.. Im new.. Currently using sony xb300 and sennheiser cx200 with E1. I had ordered the KSC-75 and payment had been done. just waiting it to be arrived.

For format im using Apple Lossless with 1056kbps and not the 1411kbps .wav. my itouch is only 8gb. and i rip the whole album of my cd. so size does matter.

FYI. im thinking of hippo amp because IF im going to upgrade to HD650 + symphonica. It will match.. So long term usage is what I looking for..

Well, if you want an a mp for portable setup which you won't go buying anymore amp after this, I would probably suggest you get GoVibe PPK.

its really true. but after ppk + hd650 combo. then i need cryo mini to mini. then LOD. then im the 1 crying cos got no money. heheh.. BTW hippo amp oso need a cryo. hehehe..

i got ppk for future proof when save money get hd650+symphonica , cryo interconnect? save 1st la , but i find that ppk no bass, but so crystal clear, detail everything. get a wire to give it some bass. IMO

Can use Van Den Hul to add the body to the bass... Either way, I think it will suit a slightly more bassy IEM, since the one I'm using... are quite bassy in their own way. Well, it can be said that, it thins out the sound production... making the bass... drier.

I... still don't know whether I should go Symphonica and HD650....

Portability... is one thing... but there is still limit to portable. I would probably wait for a while and test Radius Mk2 and Ortofon eq5 someday...

I would still probably hail symphonica + HD650 higher though. for now waiting for a ksc as well.
