I'm actually still surveying whether to get a confinement lady or confinement centre. So we would like to know how much isit for a confinement lady price in Malaysia especially Kota Kinabalu or other states price also can at least we have a picture on it.

Also, what to spend on the confinement lady? Heard that we need to give angpow for start work and end work rite and what else ya?

I hire mine 3 years ago rm6k per month. Angpau start work 400 and finish work up to you center is almost double

I just answer myself, I asked chatgpt about it. Seems to be something done in Asia mostly.

Why doesn't your husband do all that? Isn't the husband supposed to do that? He will do it for free; why pay someone to do what the husband should do for free?

Well mainly would be Dads do not get long paternity leave as Mom does with their maternity leaves. Dad has to go to work eventually and nowadays couples live by themselves, away from their parents. Yeah, some people can get the baby's either set of grandparents to help out (if they are still around) but I guess, especially for new 1st time parents, they would like to have someone experienced to handle things. For situation, our own parents are both working parents, so when we were babies, we were taken care by our grandparents. So our own parents do not have much experience in taking care of newborn infants.

We used a confinement centre too with our first child. I supposed it is for the professional health caregiver being around 24hrs to cater to our needs and to care for the baby and let the Mother sleep and recover in peace (and Dad to resume his work after his short paternity leave knowing that both Mother and baby are in professional hands). For our case, the Mother can go on 3 months fully paid maternity leave (now she can opt for 6 months with the additional 3 months on half pay) and the Father gets 7 days paid paternity leaves (only changed recently last year if I am not mistaken). Otherwise, it was only 3 days I think.

no need to work ? so free ? got the knowledge to do the correct thing ?

not every PIL stay same area la.. my PIL in kedah..im in KV... and i wont help my kids to take care also . its soooo tiring
