You will need it if you were previously issued a physical copy of it.

Happened to me in January, JPJ insisted they need the physical copy back :/

If you never received a physical copy then it's not a problem.

Yeah in my case they did. They check on their computer on the counter and said "oh got record physical copy was dispatched by MyEG".

I peel it many times when buy/sell my own car over the years.

go off peak hours less 10min job
Depends, on the prorated amount. Or if car is of larger cc its worth it rather than just let it rot.

If I'm not mistaken, JPJ will refund you based on half yearly of your roadtax only. Meaning if you bought 1 year and have already utilized 7 months after you sold your car, then there'll be no refund for the rest of the 5 months.

Hello, sold my car to carsome, they said have to wait for the bank to clear my name (everything is paid off now)?
Can I go cancel at JPJ without my name being 'cleared?

Also, to cancel, I read on JPJ website that I have to bring my bank statement that's stamped by bank officer? Is that true?

you sold a car which still has hire purchase or you've setteled the hire purchase prior to selling to shitsome?
if it was still owned by FI, then need wait.

for refund, I just print statement with account number details enough, but I can tell you, it depends on the officer on duty also. So if you want safe & not waste time, maybe just ask bank if they can do so, as JPJ officer ask for it. If they refuse, then no choice, just proceed without.

Carsome paid for settlement and my balance.
Yeah I guess still have to wait. Actually my car roadtax not exp. I only want to use the cancellation to cancel my insurance policy. I made a mistake by renewing my car insurance.earlier this month and it will come into effect only in 2 days time...sigh..

Maybe i am understanding wrongly, but roadtax n insurance is not related for this case.

Insurance just call up insurer to cancel say due to sold vehicle & they will prorate refund if any.
