I have a 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander with Apple Carplay. Some apps will run fine from Bluetooth but others (inc Google Maps) require a cable connection to show the relevant display. Cable is obviously needed for charging too.
Carplay runs fine on a standard Apple USB to Lighning cable (iphone XS Max running ios 17.4.1) but I can’t seem to find an Apple cable longer than 1m which is causing problems with where to put the iphone. So, can anyone advise if Apple do a longer cable (1.5m is ok) or if any other USB to Lightning cable is recommended? I have tried several cheap options from Mr DIY type of stores and they tend to be fine for a couple of months but then stop talking to the Carplay. I am also concerned that they might be damaging the Lightning input socket on my phone.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.
