I was suspected to have GERD last Monday after visiting the ER doctor and will be referred to a Gastroenterology next Monday for confirmation.

It was all quite sudden, i started experiencing minor acid reflux symptoms about 2 weeks ago and it does not seem to go away. Went to a normal clinic and was diagnosed with "indigestion" and was given antacid and charcoal pill. On that night itself, the symptoms got worst so I went to the ER in Sunway Hospital and then the bad news came 

Is anyone here suffering from GERD and for how long already? What steps are you taking to manage the symptoms so they do not interfere with normal lifestyle?

I have been doing some article reading regarding GERD and it appears to be a very grim condition in the sense that there is no permanent cure.

I have not been able to focus since I was told that I may have GERD.

Good to hear that there are positive news to his new regime. I wished I could talk to him regarding his current condition and how he has been coping. It is going to be a relieve knowing that GERD is not a death sentence.

I read that high fat food (eg: chocolate/junk food) will increase the risk of contracting GERD so you better watch out before it is too late.
