yup totally agreed with you..after service and warranty kinda important for me instead of the price la coz ceiling fan..will use for a very long time haha...
just remembered that my other friend installed KHIND ceiling fan when moving to their bungalow..basically they turn on the ceiling fans during the daytime and open the windows..very breeze and surprisingly quiet too..think the product name is something with Zen Air..
am sharing to other friend now haha..

KHIND ZenAir is new series from KHIND. It is using BLDC Motor, thus it is very quiet. Reliability and performance wise, I dont know as I do not have any of it.
If you are looking for any ceiling fan nowadays, go for BLDC Motor, it is normally consuming power below 40W (exclude LED Lighting option)
BLDC Motor: <40W
DC Motor: 45W to 60W
AC Motor: >60W

For remote control ceiling fan, go for those model that have Instant Start (means upon power on, no need to use remote control, the fan will start to rotate based on previous setting before power off). This is important especially for RF Remote Control, in case remote control is spoilt or lost. For IR Remote Control, you can still try to use SmartPhone App to control the fan, if needed.

RF Remote Control is better compared to IR Remote Control, as it doesnt really need direct pointing to the fan to control it.

It is Malaysia brand. I think Alpha water heater are highly regarded product too.

Khind is another famous Malaysia brand and established like Alpha too. Don't know much about Khind fan but I think they are new to fan but I may be wrong.

If you ask me about fan, it is something fundamental. Basic fan has nothing secret about its technology. The choice would be more on the design you like and most important is if you can get the service near to your area. Most branded ones have good service networks and that is one of the reason their prices are higher than less known ones.

Alpha and Deka offered many choices, but in term of reliability, they are always having spoilt CBB capacitor (especially AC Motor Fan, unable to control speed or the speed becomes very slow). Anyhow, the Control Board modules are easily available, and might cost around RM100 (if you know how to install), or might cost only below RM5 (if you know how to change the capacitor). Most of these fans are using China module solution.

Another brand you might try to look into is Rezo. This brand started in Malaysia market around 2019 / 2020. The price is very competitive, and it offer many models with DC Motor or BLDC Motor.

Ceiling Fan technology changed from AC Motor to DC Motor, and now most trending one is BLDC (BrushLess DC) Motor. However, for Malaysia market, not many makers are introducing BLDC Motor as they still can generate profits from AC Motor and so called High-End Efficient DC Motor. Very soon, Malaysia will go for BLDC Motor as it is only consuming 50% energy (energy saving) compared to conventional AC Motor.

Another bad point for AC Motor, upon aging, it will produce black powder as it is using carbon brush (small part of the motor that conducts electrical current between the stator and the rotor of a motor). It is consumable parts and will wear-out in time.

General Guidelines:
AC Motor Fan: RM80 to RM200, Power Consumption: > 60W
DC Motor Fan: RM200 to RM400, Power Consumption: 45W to 60W
BLDC Motor Fan: > RM400, Power Consumption: <40W (as low as 28W)

I only use panasonic or KDK :X

Panasonic or KDK are produces from same factory, only brand name different, performance and functions are the same.
Undeniable, its quality is good and reliable. However, for Malaysia market, they are still selling at high price, especially for DC Motor or BLDC Motor.

Depends on your budget, you can choose Panasonic / KDK BLDC motor fan or lower price range local brands BLDC motor fan.
Main point is energy saving (50% lesser).

FYI, ceiling fan is among top 3 power consumming electrical appliances in Malaysia.

In my 30+ years of working with electricity, every A/C fan motor I have come across have been Induction Motors without carbon brushes, I have yet to see an A/C ceiling fan with a universal motor till today. Could you please name me one model that uses universal motors?
*
Hi bro, thanks for correcting me. I am trying to learn on types of motor.

AC Motor: Induction Motor
DC Motor: Brushed DC Motor (with Carbon Brush?)
BLDC Motor: Brushless DC Motor
Correct me if I was wrong. Thanks.

I was seeing a pump motor in water heater using carbon brush, thus I thought it was AC motor, and thinking of similar motor was used in ceiling fan.

I am not seller / representative of any BLDC Ceiling Fan brand. I see many countries started to use BLDC Ceiling Fan, but Malaysia market still very slow in promoting BLDC Ceiling Fan (and set it at high price range), thus I did a study on the energy consumption and trying to understand the benefits of using BLDC Motor. For India market, they can sell a BLDC Ceiling Fan below MYR$200, with bi-directional rotation and speed up to 400rpm (5-Star Energy rating set at <35W @ 350rpm). While Malaysia ceiling fan generally set rotation speed between 90rpm to 300rpm (up to 80W, depends on types of motor used).

Let's continue discussion and share knowledge. Thank you.

Then you shouldn't have made the statement like you are an expert at it. You create FUD for readers when you post misinformation, considering that the TS is trying to get information about ceiling fans.

But here's the thing - I don't think you are a layperson learning and contributing. A layperson only thinks of the capacitor that controls the fan speed, while you know to say the type "CBB" capacitors.

Bro, you must be strong supporter of AC Fan. No offence, AC Fan is cheap and function as it is.

Sorry, I said I am learner on types of motor, doesn't means I dont know about basic electronics.

I know about "CBB" capacitor because I fixed it before, not to mention such info is available online easily.
