When GST 6% was first implemented in 2015 during Jibby time after years of planning, we also got

1. Corporate Tax reduced from 25% to 24% for that year.

Since then corporate tax has never been reduced anymore causing us to fall behind the rest of ASEAN which reduced their taxes in subsequent years to attract investments.

2. Personal income tax highest band reduced from 26% to 25%.

Since then, the top band has been increased after GE14 to 30%

3. Households with RM4,000 per month income and below are no longer required to pay any income tax.

4. BR1M was increased almost 50% from RM650 to RM950.

In year 2024 when we now have CUKAI SST 10% + 8%, CUKAI LVGT 10%, CUKAI CGT 10%, CUKAI DST 8%, CUKAI HVGT 10% and increase in water, electricity, Indah Water bills as well as airport tax increase...

It seems like you're highlighting various changes in taxes and government initiatives over the years. It's important to consider the broader context and impact on the economy and society. While taxes and fees may increase, it's essential to assess how these changes contribute to public services, infrastructure development, social welfare programs, and overall economic growth. Additionally, transparency and accountability in government spending are crucial for ensuring that citizens receive value in return for their contributions.

I was being professional.

Ah, bro, you're spot on! So, check it out lah, when we talk about all these taxes and hikes, it's like, what's the deal, right? Like, where's our bang for the buck, lah? Sure, we're paying more here and there, but where's the meh, you know? We wanna see some real action, wei! Like, better roads, improved public services, and maybe some more lepak spots, lah! It's all about give and take, bro. So, come on, government, show us what you got, walaueh!

That version of GST is unsustainable for those smaller businesses.

Remember, you had to register once the revenue reach RM500k per year, unlike sg version of GST (RM 3.5 million p.a)

Imagine that your volume is RM500k, with 10% margin (RM50k profit only, for 1 year). Your accounting cost skyrocketed due to GST. What else is left for yourself?

That's why so many businesses collapsed after introduction of GST. Because smaller ones are always the majority.

Almost all ASEAN countries now have GST. That's why most have been able to reduce corporate tax to attract foreign investments.

This is why global or ASEAN HQs now bypass Malaysia. Because our neighbours have gotten more competitive than us.

GST = cannot submit fake invoice = more economy boom = more rice in our bowl
