Is the brand of kitchen sink important?
I am just looking for basic SS 304 sinks, probably handmade sink, no nano coating or multifunction. I think 1.2mm thickness is sufficient?
But the pricing is so different among diff brands. I did notice 1mm thickness will be much more cheaper, but not in my consideration.
So far, I have only looked at Sorento, Cabana, Mocha and Levanzo. I have read that Sorento is better than Cabana?
Need some insight from homeowners pls..
Many thanks!
A lot of unbranded kind / china made sinks claim is SS 304 grade but actually are not. If do chemical test on the inside of sink bowl can see is falsely declared grade. 1.2mm is enough for most enthusiast cooks and a good balance of durability and price. Anything thicker is more for if you have to do very heavy duty cooking with a lot of heavy vessels (massive steel pots, cast iron cookware, dutch ovens etc.) going into the sink all at once.
There's also consideration whether handmade, whether it's welded or pressed, whether it has anti-condensation coating, soundproof pads etc.
Sorento is one of the better quality mid-range but Levanzo is quite good also (I use Levanzo myself, Deep Sea series, top mount). Haustern I really liked but they didn't have a top mount model that suited my budget n preference.
It also depends on which model you get 🤣 budget Sorento model is "worse" than more premium Levanzo model and vice versa.
