Just need to pay RM50 and you get RM1899 machine

The only thing is you need to pay rm250 reload credit per month for 1 year.

Reload credit can last 2 years + 1 years subscription period = 3 years

Got other cheaper machine with rm80 monthly subscription.

One step closer to "you will own nothing and be happy".

One day you will wake up, and all the things you own are the property of the company, they only lease it to you.

With promotion, free shipping and coupon - your average cost is RM1.70 for Starbucks Nespresso capsules. This is cheaper alternative….. but just need to buy during promotion like 3.3, 4.4, 5.5, etc.

My moka pots direct from Italy since 2014.

At least I feel better drinking coffee without the huge waste coming from your pods.

Plus incase of zero electricity. I can still drink coffee over a burner vs ur machine

Not the same analogy in this case
It's like frozen roti canai (instant coffee) vs someone tapau morning roti canai (nespresso) vs you go out eat roti canai but have to walk abit (make own espresso)

After a while of eating hours old roti canai, you'll realise life is too short to eat crappy food
Plus you also realise the walk is good for you

That's how I arrived to own shot coffee. Never looked back.
And obviously now nespressos taste like crap to me. Starbucks lagi worse.

I can say for sure if you are someone who drinks coffee a lot, pods are gonna be very expensive in the long run compared to a real espresso system

I think u didn't get my analogy.
I not saying you are drinking instant coffee. With nespresso you're halfway there between instant coffee and the eye-opening liberating experience that is real 9 bar espresso made from single origin beans that was freshly roasted

Since you already have a super auto (which let's be real, doesn't make real espresso and has a terrible burr set which affects your coffee), if you are serious and want something new in life, don't bother wasting your time with nespresso. Make the move into third wave coffee and start trying some real good shit. The good thing is you can start light and focus your money on trying various coffee beans that are for offer by local roasters

If u want variety then I can say for sure an espresso system is the way to go since you are free to choose whatever beans you want from the roast type to the origin

The grinding and pulling process is also more satisfying (learning curve involved but if you really like coffee its worth it)

The only good thing about pods is convinience.... that's about it really. Its a rich man's instant coffee

End of the day.... you do you, since its your money anyway, and there's a reason nespresso is popular

Can you confirm the RM250 x 12 credit can be dragged to 3 years? If yes, then it would look like a good deal. If spread out the RM3,000 over 3 years, means it's RM83 each month or about 33 pods per month. Sounds doable. I've been eyeing to get a coffee machine.

For those keep on saying better the manual one, u must understand the simplicity of the Nespresso machine. U don’t have wash anything else except the cup. U guys keep saying better buy this and that, but it depend on where u gonna use it. I’m using DE1XXL at home, fully adjustable pressure and temperature, but still prefer Nespresso machine at office.

*
I will double confirm tonight

Can you also help to double confirm?

It makes sense for an office setting (i mean who the heck is gonna grind and pull a shot in office)

But at home, especially if you are WFH type, then most argument leans towards the manual system. Unless of course that person is only interested in drinking and never the process of it which rarely is the case for people who appreciates good espresso

Anyway all companies i work for so far never had a Nespresso in their pantry.... its all fully auto. I would imagine the cost of nespresso gonna be very high especially for a big company. Imagine if 30 cups was prepared a day...

I just recommending based on low budget
Of course, if possible I'd say get a RM1k manual grinder or DF64v2 if budget allows..

Using a La Pavoni Europiccola and Cafelat Robot
The Europiccola is of course easier because it has inbuilt boiler but recently I find the Cafelat Robot able to pull some really nice medium roast espresso for straight drinking. Additional step requires boiling water separately in a kettle, but no pre-heating needed for medium roasts.

Don’t get this. Nespresso capsule only can do coffee.
Get the dolce gusto one better.
Other than Starbucks coffee can do hot chocolate, matcha, seasonal starbucks drinks like caramel machiatto or their Christmas flavours.

And when you use these capsule all coffee taste the same one the flavour all gone compared to own roasting and grinding.
The diff is some more bitter some more sour some more lighter but the fragrance of the beans roughly the same.

I have had the capsule machine since 2017.

You could get cheap but decent machine for 1 time payment of 500-750. Max 3 months no more payment liao, just need buy coffee beans. RM60 lasts you 2-4 weeks depending on your consumption.

Or if you're like me, just get a french press and beans. Pretty dang good coffee. For me, that 500g bag lasts more than a month.

Some might be acceptable.

I got a 3rd party Nespresso machine for my wife.
I wouldn't bother getting an actual espresso machine because I can't take caffeine anyway.

Idk how Nespresso credit works but assuming you only get the RM2.5 capsule its 100 capsules each month with the RM250 plan after 12 Months contract term you get additional 10% credits(additional 10 capsules) as incentive to stay with their plan.

there is cancellation fees if you terminate during the first 12 months of your subscription, although cancelling your subscription is actually cheaper than just buying the machine for the Latissimma Touch plan(RM1450??)

u calculate each biji pod how much and how many pod u can drink per month, then u c u every month can buy rm250 worth of pod or not
avg per pod is only rm2.50, u need to minum on avg 3-4 pod per day baru worth the sub
else not worth it, ur credit will b stuck there doing nothing even tho u can spend it on the glass etc, but how many glass u need?
its cheaper to wait for their shopee discount, tht day i bought during shopee discount even get voucher to buy 10 sleeves + free 2 cups for RM50
enough to drink at least 2 months

Depends on your needs.
I have both a nespresso and a breville dual boiler. I would say in terms of taste difference it’s very huge.

Nespresso is just for convenience, can make a cup in a min. But in terms of cost also higher than espresso machine.

Also recommend to just buy the machine from Lazada or Shopee official store. Because Rm3k credit for capsule is quite a lot, can buy more than 1000 capsules. Not too sure how much is your coffee consumption.

Is a good deal but this machine Latissima Touch the coffee comes out not very hot. Not as hot as the cheaper machines Inissia or Essenza Mini. I have all 3 and this is the most disappointing one as the coffee comes out a little not warm enough for my personal taste. Brewed as espresso, no added milk. The benefit of the machine is that it's easy to use for milk based drinks.

No all Nespresso brand machines at least in Malaysia.

Nespresso Inissia RM699 -got for office, best machine out of 3 IMO
Nespresso Essenza Mini RM699 -got the square/rectangle one so can travel with it, some countries don't have coffee machine or kettle in hotel room
Nespresso Latissima Touch RM1,899 -home usage but the coffee comes out less hot than other two, got it cheaper since using for few years now 1,399 or 1,599?

Now with the machine subscription and deals it's much2 cheaper to get. Last time we had to wait for Black Friday 1x a year in November only where you buy x amount of pods you get a 'free' machine.

The OL (original line) pods are not going away but Nespresso is diversifying and want to sell the Vertuo pods direct to consumers as that's how they make money. Their trademark for OL pods lapsed so other 3rd party can make pods for OL like Starbucks, Illy, Lavazza etc like you see in the supermarket. Unfortunately the Vertuo machines are known to be problematic and are not as hardy or long-lasting as the OL ones so most people like me don't bother switching to Vertuo yet.

Oh you also think the current machine subscription really cheap right?

Last time can get Latissimo Touch for free if buy certain amount of pods?

Ya I heard only Vertuo Plus works ok. Vertuo Next the worst.

If OL line open to all, that's good news right? Is it already starting?

Yeah most my machines I had to wait for the Black Friday sale and got for "free" with buying the pods. As you going to consume the pods anyways it pays for itself. My time was way before any of the subscriptions which is way more attractive. Seem like if you have issue with the machine while under sub they will replace no questions asked - my bad, it's a 2-year warranty like new machine, but their customer service is excellent and usually they just replace the machine i've heard.

OL line being available everywhere is good for us the consumer. No need just buy direct from Nespresso if you don't want to. If you go to Europe the supermarket shelves are stocked with so much variety and good selection for OL nespresso. Here recently start getting a few different ones besides only Starbucks. I like the Illy ones.

Anyway I love Nespresso for the convenience especially in the mornings. Tbh since getting the machines years ago we go to Starbucks way less, very noticeable in our budget.

This is medium dark I find it quite smooth and really got hint of unflavored popcorn aftertaste.

SOL I like the Brazil one little bit sour, the Sunshine blend cannot... duno is over roasted or what

I usually drink it bland without any milk or sugar.

TS already got an auto machine.
Going to nespresso is just a sideway move IMO

How much is 40 capsules per month? About RM80 per month? Then it's similar to the program that TS described. On top of that, after 3 years, the Latissima unit belongs to the customer. But your Aristo unit doesn't belong to you.

Other coffee capsule machines that aren’t branded nespresso.

Can they brew the same Nespresso pods? What brand machines are these, if much cheaper then why not?

Because original super high end Nespresso machine costing RM1899 is now free.

Why you want to pay RM400-600 for super low end fake machine?

The reason why fake machine can brew same espresso pod because the idea is very easy. It just poke the pod and push hot water through the coffee ground in the pod.

It's easy to fake the espresso machine

But the coffee taste might be different due to different temperatures and pressure.

No need to do maths

The pod price is as usual no change

The machine is given free

You just pay monthly 250 for reload credit to be used in 3 years time.
I just realise it

Worth it?

Now is free wor

Furthermore, why you pay so much for pod machine?

Do they give you free coffee for 1 year?
*
I have to buy my own coffee, not that I need that much at home, office also has Nespresso

Paying 250 per month is essentially buying the machine + coffee

Nope.

You don't have to get rm250 worth of coffee pod in that month

You can just buy rm80 worth of coffee pod and keep the rest for next 2 months.

You pay rm250 x 12 for 1 year.

Then the credit you keep saving and won't expired until 3 years.

So nope. You don't pay for machine at all

You only pay rm80 per month for 3 years just for the coffee

The rm1899 machine is free.

Is it clearer now?

1st year = RM250 x 12

1st month pay = RM250
1st month usage = RM80 (can buy 30 to 40 pods)
Left over credit = RM170 (keep for 3 years)

2nd month pay = RM250
2nd month usage = RM80
Left over credit = RM340 (rm170 add rm170 from last month keep for 3 years)

2nd year cancel subscription left RM2040 credit
13 months
Cancel subscription and keep the machine
13 months usage = RM80
Left over credit = rm2040 - rm80 = rm1960

Actually rm2040/24 months = RM85 per month can use

Wrong bro.

read properly

Pay RM250 per month x 12 = RM3000

But this is like Hotlink reload with expiry of 3 years.

So use this RM3000 over three years = RM80 per month

Its like buy 1 cup of coffee per day for RM3.

Cheaper than starbuck

and you get the RM1899 machine free

yes, it won't taste the same as proper cafe coffee, but it can taste better than familymart coffee. I'm a really busy person and cannot spend the extra 5 minutes grinding and pulling a shot from a proper machine (thought of getting the bambino with an electric grinder but ultimately decided it takes up too much space and won't be used much)

Actually my first coffee pod machine is Dolce Gusto bought in 2012.

I paid RM699 for it.

Now with Nespresso, its free machine. I'm sad that I need to pay money for my Dolce Gusto lolololol

I think that time is the first time Malaysia get pod coffee and I'm actually surprise to get Starbuck tasting coffee at home in 2012.

But after I visit Europe many times, I only see Nespresso shop in Germany, Austria etc. I never see Dolce Gusto shop.

Then I started to realise Dolce Gusto is for B40  bangwall.gif  mad.gif  ranting.gif

But of course, done well light roast also good for espressos
Require skill to pull a shot. HN focuses on auto machines, or for semi auto machines they have stuff from Breville.

So many opinionated twats in this thread so I'll weigh in too as another opinionated twat: get a Flair 58 manual lever espresso maker + DF64V grinder and watch your life change. I used to drink a lot of Nespresso when I was working overseas and no time to make coffee and at the time I thought that was close to the real deal, but no, it's super watered down and most of the notes they mention on the Nespresso pod box you can't really taste.

I heard Vertuo Next got leaking problem. Maybe that's why you got 50ml instead of 80ml.

Divide by 3 because it is to be used for 3 years

So it's RM2.7 per day you get 1 espresso everyday and a free Nespresso machine

want to follow Arissto? go ahead because you have lot of flavors...

Arissto, you need to keep up stocking fast, keep the good one, don't force customer to take not popular flavor as replacement when the stock is not around...

Let's see, where this goes

Just drink what coffee you want. If yiu like the watered down espresso from Nespresso, good on you. If you like the 1:2 (or 1:3) espresso from a more expensive espresso machine, good on you too. If you like kopi o or white coffee, good on you too.

But if you like kopi luwak, 14th floor pls

I was simplifying the brewing method of choice. Can never trust cheap plastic to make an actual good espresso lol. I've seen numbers of those cheap machines break because of their reliant on cheap components. And then wait for a long time just for spareparts.

Also yes, damn good grinder is a must and something not a lot of people know. It's as if it's a LPT kind of thing for some reason.

Get a Timemore or 1zpresso if you don't mind hand grinding IF for filter.

If espresso, about any China made grinder with burrs is okay I think. Or Eureka at the very least for something that is pretty reliable. Yang penting got aftersales and warranty la

Oh one thing I advise.

CLEAN YOUR MACHINE

The many horror stories of people not cleaning their machine and the old coffee from from God knows how long gunk up the machine just *pukes*
Like do you not wash your normal cups after drinking? It's the same damn thing.

And if your friend/family offer coffee, check their machine cleanliness first before you take the offer.

And no, auto cleaning is not good enough. You have to check if all the dirt and residue is gone. People have the unrealistic expectation of the machine cna do its own clenaing like robot vacuum or something.

If you're lazy with the maintenance and even clenaing, don't bother getting one. Stick to more simple brewing method like French Press or pourovers.

just buy cheap descaler from shoppee like this

1 liter aka 10x descaling

Of coz tried before

But that time nespresso if no remember wrong don’t have other drinks like green tea / choc?

Wife can’t take caffeine so end up with dolce gusto

My setup
Breville Bambino - RM1.5k
Baratza Sette 30 - RM870
both really solid for the price range

1kg of pretty decent blend of assorted beans from friend that runs cafe - RM75/kg

Pays for itself pretty quickly if drink almost everyday, even faster if multiple ppl drink
Pretty cheap per cup, if just beans then RM1.50 per shot, i drink americano usually so that's RM1.50 per cup

If want to factor in the upfront equipment costs, assuming over 3 years and drink just 20 cups per month, that's just RM3.29 per cup, so factor in the beans cost of RM1.50, that's just RM4.79 per cup for the first 3 years and RM1.50 after that.

Very economical and much better covfefe

Nespresso brand pod is the best in the market.

Not sure what pod you want to choose?

You can also get refill pod if you are B40. Hahaha
