Nowadays there are so many new ceiling fan brands in the market like alpha, rezo, deka, silenz n others .

Kdk and Panasonic are still the less problematic brand ?

Any recommendation for better reliability and less problem ?

Just sharing my experience. When I bought an apartment 9 years ago, ceiling fans that I bought, all KDK, the remote type. The most used ones (Living Room & Master Bedroom) slowed down on 8th year. Change the capacitor (hire 3rd party to do), both fans run fast again. Still good for another few years i think.

Basic fan is just coil capacitor and wall rheostat controller are all the same. No matter what brand, the capacitor will normally go out first. This is due to voltage surge normally. It is less than RM10 part.

More complex one is using remote controller with or with or timer. This has more electronics and more chance components on board to fail including the capacitor above.

The 3rd type is the one with DC speed controller. More quiet, more precise speed control and I think more energy saving (well fan power is not much anyway I believe).

For me, the 1st type can just buy any brand. the 2nd and the 3rd one, chose any known brand. If the board failed, you can easily find on Lazada or Shopee for replacement board. It is usually < than RM100.

Now it is more about how much you want to send on it.

Are there ceiling DC motor fans with wall controller. All my remote controlled fans have failed controllers, not worth it imo but kdk/national rheostat fans still working well, capacitors also not changed for many decades, just need some silicone lube after decades.

Alpha Iriz DC Motor 56' here....

Performance, design all acceptable but I realize the fan got humming sound. Anyone experience the same thing?

At first I tot people doing nyamuk fogging outside but actually my fan. Now I can't barely hear it because the humming frequencies registered to my brain but I'm sure other people can hear it clearly once sit close to the fan.

I know that such product existed because in the West wall control is still popular, In Malaysia, it looks like people like remote control. Maybe you need to pay more for the one that can use apps on the phone to control. Now everything is WiFi. laugh.gif
