For most Australians, there was a time when any international trip was generally undertaken in a widebody jet like a 747, A380, 787 or A330, but times are rapidly changing. More and more single-aisle aircraft are being used on international services, and travelers are literally feeling the pinch on flights of five or more hours on narrowbody planes.

AirAsia launches to Perth with an A321neo

The latest airline to introduce a narrowbody is AirAsia, which operated its first flight to Australia yesterday with an Airbus A321neo. On Monday, March 11, AirAsia flight AK604 departed Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) at 14:30 and, after a 5:04 hour flight, touched down at Perth Airport (PER) at 19:34.

The flight was operated with a familiar 2019 Airbus A321neo that carries the multi-color 3,2,1 take-off livery. The narrowbody is registered 9M-VAA with MSN 09139 and departed from Perth at 21:49 and arrived in Kuala Lumpur at 03:13 on Tuesday. This was the inaugural AirAsia flight between KUL and Perth, the capital city of Western Australia, using the Airbus A321neo and marked another milestone in the storied history of the AirAsia group.

AirAsia X is flying the route seven times weekly using its Airbus A330-300 widebody, with the A321neo route also operating daily, giving a choice of 14 weekly flights

What's the problem? It sounds like a good thing. With improvements in technology and fuel efficiency, narrow body can fly further and further.

No, the extra thin seats on the NEO actually allows for more legroom.

BUT thinner cushion means ur back gonna sakit.
