-Email reply regarding wrong finger print / etc reason

Process smooth , thank you Immigration UTC KL

1. Done photoshop passport , applied online, finger print error
(2/3/24 Saturday take photo, apply and gotten reply at Monday 4/3/24 about finger print error)

2. Reach over there at 8:30am, no need take QMS code , go counter 1, present :
-ic
-receipt
-old passport
-email reply ( if they ask )

3. After they check the 3/4 item, they will give u 2 piece of paper with same queue number

4. When it is your queue number turn, go to the counter and have your finger print register and present IC, email , receipt and old passport, passport size photo after that they will take the old passport and ic to process

5. they will tell u to wait for 30 minute-1 hours -2 hours then refer to counter 10/11, depend the queue number , u might need wait longer , they will take the queue number , remember u had 2 piece of same number early ? they take the 1 for themselves , remember there is no need to do QMS queue number !! , i forgot one thing, they take your receipt also.

6. after the long wait, when it is your queue number turn , u pass them the same queue number u had early , they will ask u to do finger print scan again and check the details in the new passport and sign once confirm. They will return the old passport which is look like damaged meaning that cant be used but it will be useful when you go outside country because sometime they ask to see old passport ( refer to the viral news korean case where they rejected a malaysian person because they didnt bring old passport )

7. u are done and off you go to do work, earn money and travel

Can take photo on the spot? Dont want to spend extra take photo outside

this one applicable to walk-in only, those children, warga emas, special case etc, they will either tell u to sit there and take photo ( they have camera device ) or go outside take photo and come back.

err how long ago has it been since you renew passport? last time in 2018 when i renewed mine also they take pic inside the immigration counter itself

how can they say error on fingerprint.

in actual i think their fingerprint data is corrupted/lost.

either hardware/backup issue, virus or hacked.

i also did mine back in 2022. not our fault, but need to queue so long for this.

u are probably right, it been years since i renew in 2013.

I think those renew IC in recent 3-5 years has no issue on thumbprint, those who renew 10 years ago like me has this thumbprint issue.

Last time is take pic inside immigration. But now macam the immigration will require you to take photo outside.

Take photo inside only applicable to warga emas or children

Long long long ago already can take photo on the spot

who wants to keep renewing every 5 years?

Later they might think of introducing e-passport app. No more physical passport.

And the app only recognise in a few places. If want to have physical passport need to special apply and proof with valid air tickets.

last time my renewal also they ask me retake pic eventho my pic was accepted online, also taken inside office
