Like me simple solution. Tell your brother have seen National Geographic documentaries or not? If any animal drinks from a water source, that means the water is safe to drink. That how humans survived millions of years ago. By watching what animals eat/ drink and if they die from those food or not.

Also if ants can cause memory loss, why can ants multiply so much,so fast? They should have lost the ability to dig tunnel before they can lay eggs due to memory loss. But there are still billions of ants.

There are even people that eat ants in remote areas. How come those people still live till today? Still able to have kids, hunt and make house? shouldn't they be dead already long time ago?
