If heavy use, go for Pro version. All Air version will throttled when constant load because of the heat.

Pro version has fan which help to maintain temperature.

Decided to YOLO and go for midnight.

512/16gb 2-3 weeks delay...

Ordered mine on 20/04/2024 (1TB 16Gb) received today morning. Took 6 days even apple said deliver in first week of May during order.

Wow, ordered mine on 17th April and still waiting. The tracking page says 'Processing'. Mine is 16/512 Space Grey. Annoying.

Could be high demand on 512GB.

potentially. had m2 256/8, really regret the performance hit i had to take so decided to double it.

why macbook air m3 looklike not popular in this thread?

Many would have already gotten their MacBook Air m1 which it is still powerful enough before they would consider upgrading.

now im still cant make any decision either macbook air or ipad pro, the price quite same

Consider the following

1) Need physical keyboard? Mac.
Yes, iPad also got keyboard but that's a seperate accessory so you got to spend more.

2) Does your software runs on specific OS? If so, choose the one that runs on.

3) What if both OS also can? Choose the one where people have said it's easier to use on.

4) Screen size. 15" or you're good with the max of 13"?

5) Do you need OLED? Is that really important or just a good ol LED is enough?

6) (Programmer) No brainer to just get the Mac as you can't run XCode on iPad.

Now the iPad Pro is marketed for those pro users who uses iPad Pro for art, content creation or even 3D drawing now. Kind of niche targetted groups while they are testing the limits of the purchasers who uses iPad Pro for just pure web surfing and video streaming on how much they are willing to spend for iPad Pro despite that they do not use it for professional work purposes.

Judging by how Apple treat their “Air” line to get an older chip such as the iPad Air. So the Pro will always get the latest, so most likely the first to get M4 are only the Pros

no need. malaysia is hot and humid place, not really suggest to make the whole chasis hot. during my heavy workload it gets really hot 🥵

There are a few youtube video that shows it will improve the thermal performance, but some have concern that making the whole bottom case warmer will cause the battery to warm up as well

Personally I have yet to try any of those mods, didn't do much heavy task at the moment, maybe 1 day after the warranty I might give it a try

I already try it and it was benificial when I do heavy task or gaming as I normally put my macbook on thermoeletric cooler. The cooler and thermalpad really reduce the heat quickly and my macbook perform well without throttling. I notice the back of macbook get hot quickly but most of the time when its on my lap only for browsing or watching youtube so its not hot at all.

Just checked, the 15 inch 16/512 that was 7799 now dropped to 6849 holy moly, 6419 with education pricing, kinda glad I held out, now to find someone with Unidays account.

Whopping RM 1k discount for the M3 base spec if u are planning to add RAM in the past anyway.

This is why Apple took so long. Maximized profit before it becomes completely necessary.

But then we get 2 core short GPU. Might as well add to 512GB SSD for more worth it.

Can’t pick up in store same day lagi. Look like sales pickup and many waited for the 16GB RAM base spec

yes, the base model is more worthy now than before... a lot of ppl add money in to add the ram...

The new MacBook pro does not have wifi 7. What an idiot on Apple’s part. What are they thinking? Because they have more ports it us expected of the user to use Ethernet?

I hope for next year Macbook air Apple will not be an idiot. White paper for WiFi 7 has already been finalized.

As much as I am personally disappoint that WiFi 7 is missing, it's hardly something that public will adapt in 1-2 years
even now the adaptation rate of WiFi 6e is slow, even for iPhone 16, which support WiFi 7 only limited to 160mhz bandwidth.

Strictly speaking, you aren't losing anything of not having WiFi 7 compared to WiFi 6e
speed perhaps but personally it's copium.

I've seen the MacBook Air M2 15 inch around RM3000-RM4000++ during 11.11, it's probably the best value buy if you're looking for a MacBook Air at the moment.

Finally, made my purchase at Switch yesterday M3 Midnight 8 core CPU 10 core GPU 16GB unified memory 512GB SSD @ RM 5299.

Switch was doing sales and cheaper RM 210 compared to student price!

Bought a demo unit Macbook Air 13" M3 16/256 from warehouse sale last week for RM2899. Everything was good and look like new set. No scratches whatsoever. Battery Health at 100%.

Was told that No Warranty for Demo Unit, but when I check with Apple, warranty is valid until Dec 2025
