Projek telaga tiub siap, masalah bekalan air SMK Mahsuri selesai

LAND SUBSIDENCE

The basic cause of land subsidence is a loss of support below ground. In other words, sometimes when water is taken out of the soil, the soil collapses, compacts, and drops. This depends on a number of factors, such as the type of soil and rock below the surface. Land subsidence is most often caused by human activities, mainly from the removal of subsurface water.

2024 they still don't know about groundwater danger

Due to excessive groundwater extraction, the Indonesian capital Jakarta and its 11 million inhabitants are sinking below sea level at a worrying pace. This phenomenon has prompted the Indonesian government to take a radical decision: to move the capital more than 1,500 kilometres away and create a new city from scratch on the island of Borneo, in one of the world's largest stretches of tropical rainforest. Lucie Berbey and Ulysse Cailloux report from Jakarta and Borneo on the rationale and challenges of this unprecedented decision.

I don't understand why it is ok to practise something which is totally non beneficial especially to children.

Well water has the highest risk of contamination and it take a small bacterial especially e-coli to send the kids and teachers to hospital. In worst case it become death case and create uproar salahan education ministry when it is the decision by the local government allow the ground water usage.

Land shinking will definitely happen when everyone in Langkawi abuse this ground digging.

You didn't include the effect of internet video. Langkawi people with landed house would follow which would increase the amount of underground water drawn. Industrial zone would follow too.

They should never ever take video and bring it to the internet.

With the same price that they drill the well. They could use it to make rain collecting system.

Singapore, a country without freshwater resource, is building water treatment plant of mega scale.

Meanwhile in msia, we are proud of underground water project of RM20k value.

You think this is tempo use? If in selangor or WP, yes. If pus run states no. Look at kelantan bus station or teh tarik water. Year in, year out temporary. Still using it today.

If that island sinks, I got popcorn ready, good drama on news. Fun times

small scale residential like for drinking and daily residential usage should be fine as rain water recharging should not cause major issue, only when you start commercially using them, watering your fields or commercial factories then that would cause a big problem.

Don't be sei sohai. Read more and perhap it will save our generation and country.

Open your eye look at Jakarta City. It is sinking because of people in the city are pumping underground water. Watch more video from youtube from better understanding.

Copilot defines shallow borewells as less than 15 meters where the water are susceptible to microbial and chemical contamination. while deep borewells is defines as below 20 meters.

however in Langkawi the borewells are between 36 meters to 45 meters under. generally speaking the deeper the borewells the better quality the water.
