Singapore, a country without freshwater resource, is building water treatment plant of mega scale.
Meanwhile in msia, we are proud of underground water project of RM20k value. Janji orang kita pegang. Janji orang kito pegang. Janji orang kito pegong. Janji orang kito bengong. |

QUOTE(stupiak07 @ Mar 2 2024, 10:01 PM) You didn't include the effect of internet video. Langkawi people with landed house would follow which would increase the amount of underground water drawn. Industrial zone would follow too. yup. free water. who don't want, right? They should never ever take video and bring it to the internet. With the same price that they drill the well. They could use it to make rain collecting system. This post has been edited by Phoenix_KL: Mar 2 2024, 10:42 PM |

QUOTE(Ichibanichi @ Mar 2 2024, 09:45 PM) I don't understand why it is ok to practise something which is totally non beneficial especially to children. I dont think they use the water for drink. It's for bathing & washing clothes. It's for students living in dorm.Well water has the highest risk of contamination and it take a small bacterial especially e-coli to send the kids and teachers to hospital. In worst case it become death case and create uproar salahan education ministry when it is the decision by the local government allow the ground water usage. Land shinking will definitely happen when everyone in Langkawi abuse this ground digging. |

QUOTE(nazrul90 @ Mar 2 2024, 11:00 PM) Already stated its an alternative. Not for permanent use? You think this is tempo use? If in selangor or WP, yes. If pus run states no. Look at kelantan bus station or teh tarik water. Year in, year out temporary. Still using it today. At least until water supplies resolved. I doubt people really want to use well permanently. If that island sinks, I got popcorn ready, good drama on news. Fun times This post has been edited by iEatCuteDogs: Mar 2 2024, 11:32 PM Lancer07 and Phoenix_KL liked this post

Langkawi folk struggle as water woes worsen
Murky and erratically supplied water have been the bane of the island’s residents. https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/...er-woes-worsen/ |

I doubt people really want to use well permanently. i wait for their permanent solution. i like to see all the puas supporters suddenly like defending posts. 21st century, dig ground water, feeling proud of it. |

Most resident of Langkawi is low educated and not so high tech. Their main source of news is word of mouth so I guess they are easily fool by the ruling political party there. Difficult for us to educate and save them towards more advance state

small scale residential like for drinking and daily residential usage should be fine as rain water recharging should not cause major issue, only when you start commercially using them, watering your fields or commercial factories then that would cause a big problem.

QUOTE(MrWrath @ Mar 2 2024, 07:06 PM) wow straight overreaction to land sinking, that involve generations of groundwater extraction and mass usage like for agriculture. this is for showering and making some milo in a cup until water treatment plant ready in a few years. QUOTE(nazrul90 @ Mar 2 2024, 08:18 PM) People here are overreacting.. Its just one school use not whole island it's not like for excessive use like Jakarta. Kelantan water woes how many years already?Actually well digging is done so much back during our grandparents days. The land doesn't sink. Changing water management company to save rm3.65m for not having reliable supply is surely worth it? https://www.bernama.com/bm/news.php?id=1895916 |
