I just learned that airport lounges in KLIA do not accept debit cards from most premier accounts under local banks. They only accept credit cards. The problem is I don't carry my credit cards, since Wise card provides the best foreign exchange rate.

Has anyone have any luck with accessing airport lounges with a debit card?

because it is the banks terminate the service with the lounge provider.. not the lounge fault.

Bank is not a charity organisation, need to make money and there is no free lunch in this world. Be realistic and don't be a cheapskate free rider.

For every one who uses his cc well to his advantage, there are tonnes more that abuse it to their own detriment .. basically the average human being isn't good at controlling his spending. That's why cc companies know this and they know, just by probability, the more they give out, the better... give out 10 cc, let's say 2 might be using to their advantage, the other 8....
So they know, that 2 people will surely encounter, but they don't care bout them their job is to look for the other 8

So it all balances out

Else cc companies won't be in such a hurry to get people to sign up

Fun fact... in sg , cc companies give out ipad (cost 500 sgd) and airpods etc , for applying to cc and charging 500 sgd to it.

What is 500 sgd, everyday makan groceries swipe cc also enough to hit..so basically that one month just by charging living expenses to that CC, is enough to get ipad for free ..

There must be a reason why.

It's all linked to the visa/mc/amex system. They swipe you card as usual and they will know if that card is a principal or supp.
