Petition to make ISP advertised Upload Speed as mandatory on their Internet Package Marketing.
With the increase demand for upload speed all around us, especially in the days of content creation unlike 10 years ago..

The ministry of communications of Malaysia should make these ISP shows the base UPLOAD speed as important as the DOWNLOAD speed.
Currently, these ISP hides the critical information on their marketing plans. Users could only obtain this information on a specific Product Disclosure Sheet which typically or normally made hidden and not easily accessible.


I am sure that I am not the only malaysian here who thinks this should be a thing!

I concur

Makes sense, Unifi used to provide equal upload speed with download speed, overtime only the download speed increased, like based on Unifi offering we getting like just 20-50% of upload speed VS the download speed.

I agree speed packages below 30M should be symmetrical.

Low upload rates makes the experience of internet bad.

Some plans by DiGi still have 1Mbps upload rate like the cheap 3Mbps unlimited plans they selling. Want to upload small sized SD quality videos also fail always.

It affects latency, web page loading and even small sized SD quality videos in socmed/Whatsapp.

I can't imagine how can people still tolerate 1Mbps upload speed on phones.

All those embedded Tiktok, X and FB videos on this website also if you have 3Mbps mobile line, they can't even load smoothly.

Sad that FREE UPGRADE 100mbps to 300mbps, upload still same 50mbps and unifi only say speed upgrade for download, no mention about upload speed

Fibre should have symmetrical upload / download speeds for 500Mbps plans, but TM doesn't seem to care.

As for mobile internet packages, it's really hard to, as the speeds tend to fluctuate?

I like the idea but I hate change.org as a platform since the signing process is bad, asks you to donate money (which goes to change.org), sign other junk and also auto subscribes you to their newsletter

with that said I have signed it

a few notes I will like to add is that GPON Fiber has a limit of 2.4Gbps down and 1.2Gbps up, so symetrical for those plans would not be possible unless upgraded to XGPON

so far only 6 people signed up for this change request 😅
