Online is so hassle free. Just upload everything online and then after three days if it's still in process can walk in and tell them it's already three days. They will give you number and prepare your passport. It took only 20 minutes from taking the number to getting the passport even at busy main branch (Jalan Duta).

But if you need it immediately can download qms app and get the number through the app. Usually the number at 7am finish already. Try that one first. If not just walk in and queue before 7am at any branch.

Choose outskirt branches like putrajaya, puchong, Kajang passport will be done under an hour even with walk in.

Just avoid lunch hour and... Ahem Friday...

Download the apps and start clicking at 6am to get the number. Do not go there before u get the number

Hi, I'm planning to bring my parents walk-in to renew their passports. I read that for 60 years old and above need to walk-in for the special senior citizen price?
So basically I need to use the QMS apps to get the qué number and just bring the old passport and IC? How about photo and any other document ya?

When I was there i saw them handing special number ro the older folks. But if I were you I will still wake up at 6am to get the qms number just in case.

Bring your old passport. Photo will be taken on the spot. Remember to wear something dark. With collar.

For online renew, they use your old photo ka? Or need submit new photo?

What area? AFAIK, Shah Alam and Kelana Jaya no online numbering system, as of Jan2024. Got to queue inline, based on type of application; problematic applications, OKU/Oldfolks. That time, they flatly rejected anything out of the cases categorized earlier; asking them to apply online. If they allow you to queue and walk-in, they will take the photo there and then.

Keep in mind they were real strict on the hair covering forehead and ears. Just make sure to gel their hair to avoid delay.

if walk-in, need to prepare all necessary documents and photocopies beforehand and be ready to grab number by 8am or else you wasted your time going to pejabat imigresen that day.

it will take a few hours to get everything done. for some people, might even take a full day.

i decided to renew online.
applied on 2pm Monday.
received notification e-mail saying my passport was ready at 4pm Tuesday.
Went to collect 9am earlier today - only had to wait 5-10 mins at pejabat imigresen to get my new passport.

if you can wait 2-3 days to get your passport, probably a much better deal to just renew online.
