No need sirim, but custom might hold your parcel and ask for your payment to tax for import it.

....

obviously....you can read this.

https://www.reddit.com/r/malaysia/comments/...s_sirim_issues/

i will take a snippet...
someone posted this.

Note: some did not get stopped, some says, depending what item being declared...ie: laptop or computer...but anybody would know if you put as such....kastam will still check regardless....til then....roll your dice, and see if you kena or not.

I went through this last month. My company sent me a laptop directly from US and i needed to acquire a SIRIM approval for it to be released by customs.

There are 2 ways to do this:

DIY application - This is tedious as the AWB is not easily interpretable and any mistakes requires back and forth communications with Msian customs. If you have the time (and patience), you may consider this.

Engage the services of a forwarding agent - I used this method. My package was approved within the hour of requesting and approved for release 24 hours later by customs. PM me if you want the contact for the forwarding agents. The cost of the service was ++RM300 (only 3 items required sirim approval which are the wireless items). Wired items do not require approval.

hope this helps

It's used. Thinking of getting for reputable wholesale seller.

You will learn how much more expensive it could be when you received a lousy or non working unit and all returns will require you to fork our money for shipping back, which usually costs a bomb.
