hi guys stuck here, bought the acer AL2216w 22' inch lcd for $900 3 months ago... its a great lcd monitor! I was wondering if I were to buy myself a ps3/xbox360/wii can I connect any of these consoles to my lcd monitor??
I think it comes with a vga port which I'm currently connecting to my aspire notebook and the dvi port or something not too sure if comes with the hdmi port but I read somewhere the lcd monitor can support hdmi/hdcp stuffs?? Also I'm planning to turn the monitor into a tv and can somebody reckon me to buy some good tvbox/tv tuner?? I have no idea whats the best items to buy out there and this is the best site to ask questions... I'm considering to buy a lcd tv instead but this monitor would go to waste! I should have bought the lcd tv in the 1st place but I (noob) seriously have no idea I can actually connect my notebook to a lcd tv... :S:S:S... such a shame!
Anyway so I hope the tv thingy can work out on my monitor and of course I wouldnt wan to compromise on visual experience as I read somewhere lcd monitor arnt good in displaying tv content?? Correct me if I'm wrong...
One last thing; you guys think now's the best time to buy the game consoles or wait for sometime longer? And whats the best price offer the consoles right now and where I should et them?? I'm leaning towards the ps3 cos it comes with a blu-ray player and probably I can hook up and watch movies on my lcd monitor?? Btw, I reside in JB and so its hard to find any stores selling these consoles...
Thanks in advance...

i have a question which relates to TS's original question.
Currently i have an LG monitor with only 1 vga input. When i want to play my xbox , i need to manually unplug the vga from my cpu and plug in the vga from xbox.. it's kinda tedious.. not to mention the need to unplug and plug my keyboard in when i need to use it.
Is there any solution to this? I was told that i can use a KVM switch... Any idea how much it costs and which KVM should i get? Currently only have a cpu and xbox running.

u can find one(VGA switch box) from play-asia.com checkout this link-just copy paste it into ur browser http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-de-49-en-70-245o.html-it costs around RM250(plus shipping cost) n if u plan to use HDMI on ur monitor , u can try to find DVI to HDMI adapter..ok!thanks! i thought blatantly promoting shops in regular threads is not allowed?
anyway, microsuck, maybe the monitor is not HDCP-compliant.

My advice, don't use a kvm swicth as your picture quality will be degraded. It'll look wash out and a bit blur. I'm using one and I'm actually regret that I've bought it but if you can live with that then go ahead.
