Does Xiaomi UI now still have lots of ads like last time? What about other China brands? Maybe look for new phone this year.

You can turn it off and just set private DNS in the settings to
CODE dns.adguard-dns.com |

they still do you can generally try to disable it at most places, if you see "recommendations" in the app settings, turn it off or you can use a pc and adb to just force uninstall some of them (not all or you'll brick it) other brands like oppo/vivo have their problems to even Samsung has with their "AppCloud" thing after every system update to install """essential""" apps (junk games and apps) https://www.forbes.com/sites/barrycollins/2...ndroid-updates/ even Apple could be considered to have ads as they promote their own services like music/tv/fitness/icloud/etc but it does depend on series, more premium samsung/xiaomi has less ads/junk JLA liked this post

Right now under 2k if u dont want bloatware and ads, go for pixel phone 7a, the new nothing phone 2a, iphone 11. Samsung bloatware software quite usefull.huawei ok but non gms. Normally when i bought xiaomi/realme phone the first thing i do remove all the bloatware using adb but it not for everyone and not all the bloatware can be remove too. Based on my exp Xiaomi a lot of the bloatware can be remove. Vivo n realme not so much. Other option buy samsung phone (midrange) of go for flagship model only. T series from xiaomi im not sure never thried it before. PRSXFENG liked this post

Wtf Just got myself a Poco X7 Pro for about 1 week+ already. Those bloatwares can be uninstalled and ads can be disabled for those that can't be uninstall. And revoke the MSA authority as well. No need to do adb or any hacking. Just normal access from the UI. Just watched 10 minutes or less youtube videos how to do all this. Now my i haven't seen one single ad besides those in Youtube (and no, i won't pay Youtube!) since the first days. Very satisfied with my Poco X7 Pro. Great design (yellow/black), fantastic performance and a price tag that puts a smile on my face. This post has been edited by CommodoreAmiga: Mar 12 2025, 08:16 AM ktek liked this post

QUOTE(Syok Your Mom @ Mar 29 2025, 06:21 AM) Got some cheap Realme phones/tablets that family is using. Didn't expect much but they work very well, no lag, no battery issues, no real problems at all for 3-4 years already. Unlike Xiaomi.Still gave to turn off settings for ads/recommendations for Malaysian models. And once ads did pop out for settings app but it got fixed quickly, not sure how because the phone already eol. This post has been edited by atilla: Jul 16 2025, 09:17 PM |

Usually for China Fon the ads will appear when I click a link that open the default Fon browser, the ads will appear before the browser open the link I clicked. This happen on my IQOO Fon so I have to switch the default browser to Aloha. After that okay no more ads. For Oppo realme I never encountered such problem before, been 2 years using both FonsStill gave to turn off settings for ads/recommendations for Malaysian models.
