Getting Started

|
Hello,
Anyone have experience researching which smartphones are best suited for seniors / elderly. Like which brand/OS has specific mode for senior friendly - ie. Very basic UI that anyone can navigate without being confused, large icons. Functions needed is WhatsApp call answering and calling only. Oh annd also in Chinese characters.

iPhone, I think.
Planning to move my mom to an iPhone, next year.
She is almost 70 and can’t read or write. Has been using Poco phones (x3, x3 pro and now x5 pro) for the last few years and only knows to open YouTube and Facebook besides making calls with WhatsApp. Still sometimes has issues with her phone.

Have the budget then go for iPhone. They have Assistive Access or senior mode. More importantly more secure, no installation of APK to hack bank accounts or scam.

ideally have something like TeamViewer for the phone. sometimes they will say "app is missing" or icons gets rearrange after updating / accidentally swipe.

If you want louder speaker, it definitely has to be a Samsung.
If you don't need that, then you can consider anything from redmi, realme if you're on budget.
