if tng's acquiring bank gives a good MDR deal of 0.8-0.9%, they still can cover a little bit of 0.1%

QUOTE(adamhzm90 @ Feb 2 2024, 09:26 PM) because someone else already set the precedence (aka approved by bmm) to charge the so-called "convenience fee" for cc reload.so, other ewallets would likely follow the trend and may have been seeking permission from bnm. now u see the double-std of how they bend their own guidelines huh good thing so far only capped to 1% based on market comparison. unlikely allowed to go higher. QUOTE(6942nole @ Feb 2 2024, 09:40 PM) withdraw is not the issue. tng is the one processing it.cc reload is charged by tng's gateway and/or acquiring bank which processes your cards (cc/DC/prepaid) DC/prepaid also got charge, just much lower and minimal impaxt. |

QUOTE(judie999 @ Feb 2 2024, 09:55 PM) Bravo ! are you sure auto reload/quick reload no fee from 23 Feb onwards?Current if > Rm1k baru kena 1% 23rd Feb = Anything kena 1% So dont reload, and just scan let auto reload when makan or buy thing. Free of 1% But some merchant use personal TnG(Not merchant), then it will force to reload due to can't auto |

QUOTE(Cookie101 @ Feb 3 2024, 09:34 AM) Convenient fee is legal it seems. And wondering if merchants can do the same or not at retail shop. 1% for cc users lol surcharge for using cc and passing down to customer is prohibited. bnm has been reminding this previously.I’ve wrote to BNM previously and never gotten any reply. Even after sending 3 reminders for response but it seems no one is working or bothered about it. Our BNM is weak as fuck. Even MAS reply in a day no matter how much Singaporeans complain and keep you updated. but somehow it can be circumvented by using convenience fee for the reload service used by providers also, by right, any fees imposed to customers must be reviewed and approved. BNM has oversight committee monitoring these. as usual, enforcement is none and usually they take action once they receive complaints from the public. since tng dares to issue press statement for this 1% fee, obviously they are in compliant, therefore already approved by bnm to impose this fee. remember, 1% fee is not their revenue. it's to cover the cost they are bearing. so, in bnm point of view, tng didn't impose 1% to make money, but to pay the reload service fee. I guess this is the grey area, by passing down their operating cost back to customers. the only way WE can do is viral it, pressure bnm, which indirectly will pressure tng back. depends on whether bnm want to flex their power over tng or not la. like ipay88 and cimb fiascos, bnm just fined them and ask them to provide corrective actions. no serious penalty like CEO fined or jailed, license suspended or revoked, etc. business still goes as usual.
