i know for a fact.......not really.....from my very own mad deductions of being a co-passenger and roughly observing how drivers behave while driving ..... a wide range of them rarely pay heed to what's behind them, correct me if i'm wrong, perhaps they do know what's behind them but just don't care.....idk..
i personally feel...
very few see the rear view as occasionally as they rightfully should
very subjective matter......what is the right amount of time one should spend gazing at the back when one should actually concentrate the front / forward......
these are solely my own thoughts, i may be 110% wrong and i personally don't really care......neway

the polestar 4 has no rear window......somewhat like a lorry with cargo that completely blocks any view to the back through the conventional rear window.....one may have the rear view via camera/s or side mirrors, rear view mirror tadak, got but can't see shit, only ur cargo

moving on...

viewing the rear view:

1. through the rear window (all normal passenger cars have the rear view window, except for maybe ....some supercars)

versus

2. having it on a display
seeing it on a screen (like how u would while reversing, seeing it on the display via reverse camera)

having a line of direct sight on an object is very important.....i feel..
I'm just bloody lazy and always wanna cut short my screen viewing times.......plus it's only natural to see through a window

as for the view belakang
lorry drivers will have a different view......so will most of u

all Polestars look bloody awesome
the 4 even more so

You may have seen "Swedish" brand Polestar announce it's cutting 450 jobs globally as it continues to struggle to sell its range of electric vehicles (EVs) in the face of increased competition from the likes of Tesla and Chinese manufacturers.

Polestar, which was once the AMG of Volvo and had absolutely nothing to do with EVs, was turned into its own brand in 2017 with the aim of selling plug-in hybrids (now gone) and EVs.

t's at a point now that its reliance on Volvo and parent company Geely for funding its losses ($640 million cash injection in late 2023) puts a big spotlight on the brand's future potential.

The company has already said it needs around US$1.3 billion (A$2 billion) in debt and equity financing just to break even, and only if things go to plan. This is on top of its promise to double down on its cost-cutting efforts.

In the trailing twelve months of doing business, Polestar managed to lose around US$1.2 billion (A$1.8 billion in normalised EBITDA), up from US$740 million (A$1.1 billion) in 2022. In other words, the sales are going down and the losses are mounting up.

At some point, something has to give and it won't just be the dreaded propulsion system failure errors owners are reporting.

with no rear window and using a camera to view, is interesting. I think since its a new concept for vehicle owner, it will take some time to get use to it! Anyways interesting concept!

They already had to cut their employees because they overextended with pricing in 2023. If you’re on Reddit car and EV subs you’ll know even in the US where car prices are dirt cheap people aren’t buying these because they’re priced too close to BMW and MB.

Don't know who but whatever it is they are smoking, it is worth a try as it took them to outer space, right up to the edge of the solar system.

Imagine vandals spray-painting or scratching your rear-view camera. Similarly for side-view cameras.

Rear-view mirrors > rear-view cameras, .......

https://www.autoblog.com/2022/01/12/cameras...r-view-mirrors/ - 2022/01/12 - cameras-vs-car-rear-view-mirrors
.... Furthermore, mirrors offer something cameras can't, or at least not with the displays that are currently used: depth perception. This is something I've become aware of when using some of the rear-view camera displays in rear-view mirrors. Because the mirror is reflecting exactly what's outside, it's effectively like looking out a window with your own eyes, which gives you a three-dimensional view, and you can judge distance. That's obviously very helpful when deciding if there's room for you to merge, or even when parking, and it doesn't require guidelines. Furthermore, because of the depth perception, your eyes focus as though they're looking at a more distant object. As such, it's easy for your eyes to move from looking ahead through the windshield to the mirrors. With cameras, you're looking at a two-dimensional image. You don't get a sense of distance, and your eyes are focusing on the display, a bigger change than looking at the object in the distance. ...

Along those lines, mirrors are far less affected by inclement weather and the aforementioned bad lighting. I've driven many cars in heavy rain and snow, and they frequently make blind-spot cameras a blurry, muddy mess that are completely unusable. In the dark, bright headlights can be an issue, too. Even in salty conditions, salt residue and other dirt can build up. Yes, mirrors can have ice on them, but heated mirrors fix that, and rainwater slides right off regardless. Plus, the interior rearview mirror is unaffected, and the rear window almost always has a defogger and sometimes a rear wiper, making it mostly immune to weather. ...

Like they say, "Do not fix what ain't broken".

Actually I just thought it’s funny the way it is worded “bathe in the ambient light of your anus” 😅
They wrote that because the ambient lights can change colors according to the 12 planets. You select Mars, you will get Red color for example etc
