I bought a 65x75k at rm2799 from Domaio and after everything is installed. During night time then only I find out that the remote control is in this condition. Wondering is it normal? How to check whether the unit is second hand? I asked the shop and they told me it’s new from warehouse.

Thanks for help.

Yes I tried to access the service menu but no way to get in like last time. Used to be display + 5 + volume up/down and power on. Now can’t access anymore. 😅

Any chances to get it return for new set instead?

The remote control was sealed in the packaging when it came.

I bought the low range one which is x75k. Most probably still using the old design remote.

I checked the label and it written 2023 Oct manufacture date.

Just contacted them just now and they told me most probably I scratched the remote control myself.. so they can’t do anything..

Wondering how you all could know if it’s a demo unit because it seemed to be new with everything in plastic and even the remote control is wrapped inside a plastic bag..

Yes it came with white colour sealed tight cable though. The remote control also stick with the plastic as well. But once peel off, the inside is full so scratches.

Not sure whether it’s really demo or new unit. Shop just reject return or bear any responsibility currently

Any good way to find evidence to support this?

Was tried to figure out by googling and seemed like only way is to go into diagnostic mode. I tried with my old Sony tv and it works. But unfortunately this tv does not support the mode anymore.

Inspect the TV closely. Any sign of dust due to left in the open or stain from wiping. Did the screen and sides all come with proper plastic protection when you unboxed.

bangwall.gif Really disaster, thought of buying from a reputable shop wont have this problem, end up really worse choice to get from them.

So far there is no scratch or accumulation of dust at tv corner.

The sides did come with plastic protection but screen doesn't though.

Normally I will take photo of the demo unit serial number that being displayed. If the goods delivered to me same serial number, then I will call their CS.

That’s a very good tips thanks!

Their showroom don’t have this TV model so they told me it won’t be a demo unit. It’s direct from warehouse.

So now thinking how come the sealed box inside would have scratches remote.

Right now they contact Sony side and they said Sony agreed to replace remote control only but not TV 😩

may be the scratch already there , i mean from the factory itself
if your cable came with sealed tight cable , means brand new set

Everything is like factory set where tight cable, in plastic, the manual curve together with the remote control.

Just that the backside after tear off the plastic seal that stuck with the remote control, it's scratches.

They just promised to replace the remote control but not the entire TV. Anything that I could fight for or worry about?

Oh my bad! I live in East Malaysia and they have quite a few branches here.

Borrow the older remote control with number pad from friends or neighbours and try to access the service menu.
Maybe it will work.

which is true , as my own experienced previously , bought 58 inch 4k samsung tv thru samsung authorised reseller via shopee , i do suspect them gave me a demo unit , upon received the item , there is no factory sealed tight around the box , upon setting the tv i do noticed there is 2 devices already registered connecting to the tv which is not mine

been using the tv around 1 year and 3 month , the display panel already K.O , then contact the customer service , the process of warranty claim begins here and there , until they replaced with brand new 65 inch 4k samsung tv , the unit comes with factory sealed and i'm satisfied with it nod.gif

nice. at least u get replaced with a brand new unit after all.

bought from shopee will be high risk especially one is buying from dealer and not the brand shop directly.
especially last time shopee can easily request for refund (even for reason such as change of mind), so there will be cases that buyers refund the purchase and items will be returned to them. obviously it is impossible for them to dispose the item or what rite, so they will just repack and pass to the next buyer... but the returned items obviously could have been used by the first purchaser already...

that's why i would rather buy directly from the manufacturer online store directly. at least high chance they won't send u a demo set or returned/opened set. tongue.gif

electrical appliance unless those relatively smaller items like hair dryer, speakers etc... i still can accept to buy online, bigger items like TV etc.. i would rather not take the risk to buy from official online store or at least reputable electrical store like harvey norman etc..

now brand like sony, one may be suprised that their online discount can be even more attractive than their dealers. tongue.gif
