I am a newbie, I have doubts. I gonna buy the canon 400D with EF 17-85mm (option 1)

but this shop in Sim Lim Square sg tells me to choose the option below instead of EF17-85mm:

(option 2) to use the original EF-S 18-55mm, then buy another EF 75-300mm F/4-5.6III with grobartig 0.5x wide agnle 58mm. Then we can cover better range in outdoor and indoor can have a wider angle.

price wise, option 1 will be more expensive by S$100 (RM228)

The doubts i have now is, from the price list, lense EF 17-85mm alone is RM1.2k more expensive than both lenses in the option 2. So for money wise, should I just stick to 17-85mm?
