Looks like many big Daiso stores close shops left and right nowadays. Business so bad?

It's gone already? I saw it just yesterday.

100 yen items but priced like Rm5.90

Who the hell goes there in 2024.

Only makcik makcik and ahso ahso that keep went there. Keep adding more craps in their house.

Besides we have too many alternatives nowadays.

Daiso is getting irrelevant to be honest

Nowadays, they are selling more high value items (>rm5.90) than last time.

They put certain items in special rack so it's understandable. Even Eco shop done that. Just don't like the most item pricing.

In term of cheap item
Eco shop > Daiso > Mr.DIY

Last time got 1 hr free parking I still go. Then they implement parking fee. I stopped going dy.

Many sohems go there touch2 then no buy anything

with No SA and Puluh mula 5 ke atas .
satu barang sudah RM 5.90 beli 2 sudah RM 11.80

Due solely to weak RM. All international chains facing same challenge.

Can't remember the last time I bought something from Daiso , and today I bought from both Mr. DIY and Ecosave.

Wait, I did buy like 100x card protector sleeves from Daiso over 6 months ago. More of an impulse purchase, and haven't put them into use yet.

Daiso got to stop selling the items found in Ecosave and go more niche products. These days even Dollar shop (Mr.Diy) got overlapped by Ecosave and Mr.Diy.

Malaysians manada quality mindset. Only want cheap cheap cheap.

Daiso is for M40. Malaysia M40 now becum B40, so daiso no business.

Some of their things even though expensive are well designed & more better built. I always hunt for cleaning brushes there that i used constantly for cleaning bathroom tiles and walls. I bought Mr DIY & Eco shops one that looks almost like Daiso one. But will either the handle break or the brushes fall off after a few usage.

I also like their tiny neodymium magnets that they there. Used these to secure some tiny projects. This cannot find anywhere.

The clothes plastic bags are nice and durable that i used to keep some not frequently sorn clothes. It is even thicker than the plastic that laundry shop gives.

I also keep a few CR2032 battery 2 pack (Maxell) sold by them. They are genuine repacked ones. Outside selling about RM28 for a pack of 5.

Anyway the first Daiso i saw closed was the Quill City Mall one in 2021. The latest i saw closed was Sg Wang just early last year.

They are here to stay in Malaysia retail scene. No worries.

The new logo displayed on the renovation hoarding board shows a coffee shop.

Always a lot of customers at this Daiso. Surprised it's gone.
