Hi all,
Saw a group of people playing at tennis courts and badminton halls, feel its less aggressive and fun. Are there any existing pickleball players here? I would like to find out more about pickleball and try playing.

Depends on session. I just came back from watching pickleball at SS15. I'd say 70% young fellas.

Trending sport in Malaysia, by no means it's less aggressive, if you haven't met those who cover the net/kitchen area well.
But no doubt it's friendly for elderly who are familiar with racquet sports where they can make use of their footwork and hand/eye coordination from tennis, ping pong.

I've played once and found myself struggling with reach as I'm too used to the length of a badminton racket compared to the short paddle. But no doubt very fun and friendly picklets, regardless of age.

I find it fun and addictive. I can play 3-4 times a week. However there are those who play the game aggressively, as though they are playing tennis aka bangers.

QUOTE(garion @ Aug 28 2024, 01:45 PM) how much per court per hour? Depends on location. Currently popular venues is like NZX ara damansara, Dink It Kota Kemuning, PSC/KLGCC Hartamas, Satellite PJ, PickleJam, etc. Can check rates and availability using AFA app.

If you wanna to try playing, can always look for Beginner friendly sessions on Reclub. Usually the hosts provide paddles for rent at RM5. Best to not buy a paddle before you try playing a few sessions.

IIRC most of the dewan komuniti are about RM20-25/hr. But you're right, some of the badminton courts are too near next to each other, so quite dangerous to play with people with bad footwork. A lot of tennis courts are slowly converting to Pickleball courts..
