Videography Looking for A Software to Add Subtitles in a Video

I am looking for a free software to add subtitles in a video and then export it in 9:16 format to use it for Insta reels or YouTube shorts.

Thanks for your reply. I am actually looking to take clips from a YouTube Video and then upload it as a short in 16:9 format with subtitles. Do you think your method would work? Can you please share a tutorial that maybe is available on YouTube.

Lol you ever used google before? Try it, it will be much faster than trusting some random LYN post. And if even with google you are unable to figure out how to do it - then this method really not suitable for you, need to have ability to read and understand then only can.

Free and quite powerful, but not as complete as paid software. U can search for help on how to use the function on youtube.
