QUOTE(FusionXY @ Nov 14 2024, 02:47 PM) Oh ya, for the portable modem can use either battery or direct bypass. You can bypass the battery if you don't want to degrade the battery lifespan. Like connect USB to your laptop to use. A cheap 5G phone also good. You also switched to 5G?

QUOTE(Billy.Who @ Nov 25 2024, 03:11 PM) ? The problem is specific to the NR5103E (Three (the telco) variant). Most of the stuff on Lazada/Shopee should be fine if they're unlocked. Buyers just need to be somewhat familiar with the tech to ensure that the units support the necessary bands to work in Malaysia. Although in some cases the savings might not be worthwhile since the pricing is relatively high, around 100-300 cheaper than official units. Then again the people who resort to such channels probably don't have the financials to spare so the savings no matter how little may be significant for them Honestly those going for these are those who use the unlimited sim and to bypass hotspot limit only. It's totally not worth to risk your money. Some more Lazada was willing to subsidies your purchase. 3 years warranty on top.

QUOTE(BOTAK_WAI @ Apr 4 2025, 12:08 PM) how about buy the cheapest 1 😂 price without coins discount Cheap... but since I had good result with my own router, went on to purchase a similar router and get peace of mind. As for ZTE, I think I will avoid. Stable yes... but Im not sure whether the inconsistent speed I get from Celcom is a result of congested network or just the MC801A not up to the task.

QUOTE(templar1996 @ Apr 29 2025, 12:38 AM) i tried with Celcom but thats not a full fledged postpaid, more like a backup. The issue with X50-5G is the firmware. Not stable and Tplink engineers are struggling to push a new update. The last update they released cause quite a problem and forced most user to reroll back to previous firmware. Actually just higher CPU usage... not much difference. I did downgrade though, scare later cannot downgrade. Staying with 1.15 just in case. FYI, I already blacklist Celcom. I terminated my Celcom and use Umobile instead. Not sure about other area... but for my area, Celcom seem to throttle 5G speed whereas UM is a stable 400-500Mbps with X50 5G. QUOTE(templar1996 @ Apr 29 2025, 01:21 AM) I used it with Plex, the high cpu usage really slowing down the stream and sometimes my network wont go higher than 100mbps. Wifi also seems unstable, my Ip13 keeps disconnecting. Have u tried VPN to check if celcom is throttling or just the router slowing u down? If you want to downgrade, you can google the tplink forum for the downgrade instruction. Need to flash a newer 1.21 to downgrade. The high cpu utilization is due to the integration they tried to push with other tplink smart products.

QUOTE(Neptern @ Apr 29 2025, 05:49 PM) So the x50 5g no good nowadays? Used to hear good things about it. Any new recommendations? It's still good for me... easily 400-500Mbps down with UM. But lately tplink try to link with their smart products, thus integrating too much features into the firmware, causing unnecessary high cpu usage which affected the transfer speed for some ppl. It didn't affect me but I still downgrade my firmware to pre integration just to future proof.

QUOTE(ck_tonny @ Oct 11 2025, 10:11 PM) I am using U Home 5G, previously using gteniq, today received my tp link deco X50 5G, bought from shopee tp link official store @ RM589.66 during shopee 10.10 sales. I would advise you to get the tp link deco X50 5G because it's 5G signal and wifi performance better as compared to gteniq. 5G signal is 4 out of 5 bar whereas gteniq is 2 or 3 out of 5 bar. The unit that I got is EU/2.0 version, max 5G speed is 4.67Gbps whereas v1.0 only 3.4Gbps. From the tp link eu website, specification shown that it has 8 5G antennas and 3 wifi antennas, a huge upgrade compared to v1.0 which is only has 4 5G antennas and 2 wifi antennas. More info @ https://www.tp-link.com/en/home-networking/...#specificationsThank you and have a pleasant weekend. It is actually more dependent on the chipset itself rather than the physical antenna that you can see. For example, X50 5G wifi is a 2x2 which means 2 receiving and 2 transmitting stream. Even when you have 3 antennas, its more for signal strength (which I doubt changes anything since the distance between each antenna is virtually negligible) rather than increasing speed. Hence that is why the wifi speed stay the same despite the increase for antenna. As for the 5G speed, not sure if they are using another chipset or what since Snapdragon X62 in the original X50 5G are only rated up to 4.4Gbps...
