QUOTE(syque @ Mar 14 2024, 10:21 AM) Hi OP, what did you get in the end? If you like to dabble with unlimited settings and future proofing firmware with OpenWRT = ArcadyanIm currently also survey market.. either Arcadyn AW1000 or Gteniq. Someone mentioned Airtel X25 too. No frills easy to setup with minimal config required and great signal pulling capability = Olax G5018 / GtenIQ X55 Most affordable + branded + plug n play setup = Nokia Fastmile v1 |

QUOTE(GamersFamilia @ Mar 14 2024, 04:11 PM) Market right now is somewhere around RM830-RM900, depending on seller. Sometimes, need to also look out for Shopee voucher that can give further discount to the original price. I got mine that time for just RM766 after RM120 Shopee discount. petrading liked this post

Including shipping around Rm800. One shopee seller was saying his airtel x25 pro was better than gteniq & arcadyan. Having a long dilemma between GTEN IQX55 vs OLAX G5018 to pair with a U HOME 5G plan or Yes Flexi 5G plan
Staying in a 2storey with high ceiling hence I would need it to have a acceptable / decent Wi-Fi signal.. Also require a strong 5G signal pull as my area tend to be quite bad at times.. I tried Umobile 5G on iPhone12, mostly only approx. 2bars... at certain spots will drop to 1bar.. I do get 3 bars but it is really rare.. Initially wanted to go for TP-LINK X50 5G due to the 3years warranty but, somehow I feel, it isn't that future proof for not being 'modded'.. I cant change to any other telco plans easily... Also, will be forced to stay within TPLINK's Deco ecosystem to boost WiFi coverage with their expensive mesh.. As of now, am leaning towards GTEN.. Any kind inputs will be greatly appreciated! Cheers! This post has been edited by AlvinDj: Apr 4 2024, 12:55 PM |

Anyway, I just signed u home 5g free modem, 24 months contract, ZTE mc888s. Same 68 a month so real bargain with the free modem but the ZTE mc888s will be carrier locked to umobile only right? Didn't want to tie down 24months with umobile just incase the signal gets bad somehow, I can switch other carriers / plans.. Yep, all under same DNB infra no matter what Telco. For me I anggap as buy modem for 24 months installment for 40 a month, then the remaining 30 is for SIM plan. Cheap |

But the 5G bands matters right? Say for uMobile having more 5G bands over Yes5G, and if my area's certain 5G band happen to be lesser etc, and not supporting the limited Yes5G ones i will lose out right? |

I finally took the plunge and ordered gteniq during Lazada 4/4 sale due to the discount I gotten.. May I ask for gten's firmware, is it proprietary to the seller's own firmware or I can flash to with any firmware from elsewhere as well? And usually, where to get the latest firmware updates?
