Currently testing mainly on SG network, got a peak of around 500Mbps DL and around 90-100Mbps UL via b28 LTE anchor + N1/N78 5G NSA band. Main fame comes from ability to customized and modify however you need. Seller sells just the board, or a combo of SMA antennas connectors, motherboard and internal heatsink + fan with aluminum casing

Only downside is proprietary mediatek blobs (WiFi 7 drivers + SoC drivers) inside firmware, seller provide SDK but blobs not in mainline ImmortalWRT yet. Some work on software side needs to be done

Will test eventually with RM530N-GL or RM551E-GL to see what can this little thing do if placed on mmWave. Pending testing for SA network within SG for speed

Honestly I think this is quite okay for normal folks once they gotten it setup and properly put together. Software wise also quite robust for what it is, definitely can do better, and hopefully the proprietary blobs will in mainline soon, and other people (incld myself) can properly poke at it to make it more stable

Antenna wise not really, got the small chili peppers antennas, I got high gain 20M antennas as well. Don't see a point for an AIO antenna that's that big, portability first is my main use case

Performance of F50 pro not bad actually. And it uses very little current - I can run it on a 18650 based powerbank for hours. And love the fact that it's dual sim.

Anyway adding the following modems to my list soon:

Huawei Brovi H151-370
Mercusys MB520-5G

With WiFi and 5G antennas, around 50RMB

Total around 1.1K RMB, around RM600+-

RM520N-GL is 1/2 of the total cost. a little price to pay for DIY modem, not bad if you want high speed 5G modem, mine is mediatek, with fibocom fm350-gl
(mtk t700) slightly less than rm500. thumbup.gif

I’ve only used Quectel so far and I’ve had good experiences, I’d explore but I might buy something that’s incompatible so I just stayed there

At least it’s X62 so I’m getting decent chipset for what my money is paying for tongue.gif

well, the truth is, fibocom is under contract with intel to manufacturer 5G modem for laptop market , e.g dell, lenovo, hp. my card is actually under hp firmware meant for hp laptop, you can't just plug in to the router and expect it to work, it has to be flashed by the router manufacturer for its to work. that is a little tidbit news for you. for thos oem quectel modem, you can just plug into any board with m.2 slot, the openwrt will take care of it. provided the openwrt already installed the pcie, usb modem kernel extension. I know qualcomm chip is widely supported in openwrt. mediatek and unisoc not so much, but those popular model still supported. thumbup.gif
