Maybe 300-350...
Because any higher, a used medium tiered smartphone would be better still... same 5000mah battery, I can even run nordvpn before hotspot the internet with a smartphone.
got, usually for that kind of price only can be found on facebook marketplace
found 1 antenna that can be purchased easily from mouser or taobao, and the manufacturer is Quectel, the 5G IoT module leader. It was designed for Quectel’s RM520x Series modules.
u got try this 4x4 mimo? I'm curious about the performance compared to the outdoor parabolic one. currently saving money for the parabolic, maybe will commit for outdoor antenna in March this year. this 4x4 looks minimalist compared to parabolic. another concern is I'm afraid if any of my neighbors file a complain to mcmc if I use parabolic, because it's so obvious. if this 4x4 antenna quectel, most likely my neighbors won't know what antenna is this. lol

nope. i don't need antenna for the moment.
u want minimalist antenna, there is 2x2 zte. if your router got 4x4, just plug this 2x2 for the main antenna port and put 2 pigtail antenna for the diversity antenna port.
since we only use b28 (700mhz) and n78 (3.5ghz)for nsa 5g, 2x2 should be enough. unless you want to cover other 4g spectrum as well.
But one thing to note is that this modem has two quirks which some may find annoying - one it does not have straightforward means to choose 4G or 5G only, and 5G SA doesn't work on this decice despite the option to lock on only specific bands.

Can anybody please recommend me a good standalone 5G modem? I am currently using 2 TP link Archer BE550 in a mesh network. I don't want to mess with the wifi. If I purchase a 5G modem with wifi, can I turn the wifi off?

those are unbranded usb dongle, which can pair with 5G modem card. this is the most economical choice, the more high end is the small 5g modem with Gigabits port, inside also need separate 5G modem card. this you can hook up to the Router WAN port, else your router need to support USB modem, which is quite rare.

Yes you can use any good modem router and turn off the wifi broadcast. Additionally you can also disable dhcp in your modem router so its work is only to extract a good signal as a modem only. The routing part can be done with any home router such as your be550.
I got the black one too. Looking forward to your review - hopefully my recommendation does not disappoint.
Received today, so far so good. My last 5g modem was gteniq so this portablity was a huge positive for me. Easy to configure via web page... The mEzzee app does nothing unfortunately.
Tempted to buy another one for the in laws to use at their shop..instead of paying $150 a month for unifi

For the app, make sure you download "mProMiFi", not "Prolink mWifi" or "mEzee". Apparently Prolink has different apps for its different wifi products. I don't get their logic. Haha
I could also recommend ZTE U30/U50 for your in-laws but as you'll find out, DL7211's long battery life trumps the others.

Thanks for that recommendation, mwifi works really well. Have also ordered prolink led smart downlights (hopefully my confidence in prolink brand is not misplaced).
Can i ask what price did you pay for U50? (so i know when to pull the trigger). Is it superior to the prolink one?

Re:U50
One guy sells an unlocked one for almost RM700 last time I checked (which is way too expensive for a Mifi device; but then again everything he sells costs an arm and two legs). Locally all other U50s sold are locked to CelcomDiGi which can go as low as RM300. Physically it is easier to facilitate in the pocket compared to the Prolink because it is smaller, thinner and less boxy. Battery life not bad (around 8-10 hours) but still short of the Prolink which can last almost double that. Both devices can be powered directly via USB (though the U50 in particular requires high current supply especially on 5G - if not enough it will reboot)
