QUOTE(sbd @ Jan 6 2026, 07:55 PM) I have many IoT things and IP cams and the number can easily be close to 100 so is it a good idea to treat my x50 5g/gteniq/fastmile as a modem only (either set to bridge mode or disable DHCP/NAT) and use an external router like a Mikrotik or Asus or Tplink? Would that give more stability or am I wasting my money? If indeed it is recommended, can you recommend some routers to do the job? I read: "However, some user reports in community forums suggest a potential software or IP address limitation with the Deco X50-5G model, where users experienced issues connecting more than 10-11 devices. This appears to be an anomaly and not the intended capacity of the hardware. The device's official specifications emphasize its ability to handle a high number of clients in a dense environment." 100 internet thing you need AP like this rujie new brand enter MY got positive review » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « image for illustration purpose only this seller listed max client and recommended one

Hi I already have 5 different access points more than capable of handling clients (2 x tplink eap 225 outdoor and 3 x tp link eap 650) what I need is a strong router (preferably wired not wireless) to route all that traffic. Access points don't natively do routing, they're just access points. I am looking at Mikrotik Hex S 2025.... The thing is I don't need wireless capability from the router. I let the access points do the wireless work. That way the router can focus on routing. I did also, got the same response, but then again why it"s made available on Shopee Malaysia? The reason I posted is because there are tons of modems being sold on Shopee Malaysia by sellers from China and they make it through to Malaysia. Some kind of loophole? Was wondering if this loophole also applies to shipment of modems from Indonesia lol This post has been edited by 9M-MAS: Jan 11 2026, 02:18 PM

I think it's a SIRIM issue, need a lot of paperwork & some money. China sellers may declare as an item not under MCMC/Sirim radar. Maybe this Indon vendor playing by the book...
If you order such devices using wireless via Fedex, DHL or big name couriers, 100% they will send you notice to get MCMC/SIRIM clearance.
In any case, need to be careful buying such equipment - their telcos may be using diff. standards and using here may work but maybe not at best.
Got another local seller selling at 480 but locked to U Mobile

QUOTE(PRSXFENG @ Apr 16 2025, 12:39 PM) FCC Teardown (at https://fccid.io/2A5LO-TOZEDZLTX100/Interna...Photos-7102381)Shows Unisoc platform so... not a great choice CelcomDigi used to give ZTE router right? why did they downgrade so hard? I guess to compete on price with UMobile and Yes? *Disclaimer, the link is for "ZLT X100 PRO, can't find X100 PRO on their website and can't find X100M PRO on FCC" I am making an assumption it's the same thing, just that this "M" variant doesn't have the TEL jack Celcom used to give mc801a which is quite good unlike UM mc888s. I'm accidentally accumulating modem as I switched around different ISP over the years. Unifi air b618 Celcom mc801a UM mc888s Is there any cheap but reliable portable 5G? I'm expecting cheap 5g smartphone answer. This post has been edited by andrekua2: Jan 18 2026, 05:04 PM

At this price, better to utilize my old phone which most probably have a better soc than what are on these portable modem.
