 Advice needed regarding offer letter

Hi greetings fellow brothers & sisters,

Recently I received a job offer from Linkedin, successfully passed the interview, everything was okay but when i received the offer letter soft copy.

I notice there is a disparity & differences in the company name & job title offered. The company name is for example shown on linkedin as XXX financial group, in offer letter it becomes XXX Technology.

Second thing, I went for the interview of role Client Onboarding Specialist, but the title offered becomes Operations officer.

In a dilemma now, worried of getting conned or getting into trouble, wanna ask humble opinions does it look very suspicious as I learnt from the recruiter it is sort of a investment firm involving forex and exchange.

There is a clause stating once offer accepted & did not show up on appointed date will have to pay compensation of 3 months salary.

Advice are highly appreciated, thanks

Did you check Glassdoor reviews?

Also does the company name in the emails you’ve received from them match the company name in the offer letter?

Make sure you have a written explanation of why the company name is different.

Also, look for former employees on LinkedIn and write to them explaining you’re considering the job. This is very valuable - I once avoided a major error just by doing this

About the 3 month salary compensation in case of no show - this is ridiculous, get rid of the clause. Worst case if you’re still interested in the company (after all the above checks) and still unable to remove this clause, then show up on the first day and decide. If not good then resign.

Ya the linkedin name was a XXX financial group, but registered ssm it was a XXX technology sdn bhd

Glassdoor reviews have very little references, only 3 reviews & i believe not local reviews too.

email wise it did mention the core brand name same as offer letter

Ya really needs a clarification why it is a technology sdn bhd instead of a financial group as according to linkedin.

u mean like doing a background check with former staffs?

Ya, was very concern as this company has very little information to be found as apparently it is a rather newly established company.

Ya, have not resigned yet the deadline for the offer is 22nd of January.

The 3 months salary compensation is probably one of the worst clause i have possibly seen, I was really shocked to see it. As they could just retract offer last minute without paying me anything in case they feel like my position no longer needed.

Anyway, thanks for your patience in helping me to highlight the parts i need to be aware of. Really appreciate your help.
