Okaaaaaaay.

CKT Basah also originated in Penang, specifically Tokong Ular, Bayan Lepas vicinity.

The creator is Sany. He now sells the bottled kicap/sauce that most ppl use to make Kuay Teow Basah (Sany).

The malay Mee Udang also originated in Penang.

The original creator was Salwa Mee udang in Teluk Kumbar. They based their recipe on the Mee Kuah (Mee Daud) originally in Transfer Road.

I don't even think he still owns that place in Tokong Ular anymore. He started it with his brother and friends but due to a personal weakness (with money), the business suffered. He was exiled to KV and later started the bottled sauce biz.

His brother continued somewher near USM but the place was demolished last I passed by.

Penang malays mostly call it Kuay Teow Sany nor matter who makes it... biggrin.gif

I used to eat my (halal) CKT at Bee Hwa cafe. Nowadays a few malay sellers in Penang can do it better.
