Hi All

May I ask if anyone knows if people from two different states (KL and Johor) could make Marriage Registration at JPN WP Jalan Duta?

I have been searching around Websites and JPN Sites but no confirmed answers. I have even called up JPN and they recommended that our address on identity card should be changed before registering at the JPN.

To manage this at same place also the easiest way, one or both of you need to change IC chip address to at state where you will be registering. May need to prepare utility bill to prove you live at the said address, it is a very quick setup depending on queue.

But anyway better still check with JPN physically who knows some rule change on address change procedure for IC.

My experience, fill up form from jpj, get signature or chop from your respective states, then can go register at nearest jpn

- If both from different states, both need to submit 2 different forms to their respective states NRD.
- The form can be collected back after 21 days and can proceed to do ROM after 21 days.
- You can book the date of marriage on the same day of submitting your form but the marriage date must be after 21 days of submitting the form.
- This only applicable if you want to do your ROM at NRD branches.

Is there an easier way? There are 2 ways;

1. Change IC address (change your IC) to the state you want to do you ROM. IC change nowadays take less than one hour if you do it at UTC or state HQ.
2. Do your ROM at society centre or authorised place (temple, church etc). Need only to submit one form and the form can be collected on the same day.
