What do you guys think is a suitable answer to question like why do you want to work in SG? Especially when interviewing with a MNC company that has a Malaysia branch. I can't possibly tell the interviewer because Malaysia lack of career opportunity or the x3.5 currency rate.

The first thing I asked is my pay; I gave my ballpark figure and head hunter will know their place to never waste my time again as I told them upfront.

never talk about MY lack of career opportunities because realistically there are companies in the world operating in MY. My partners in SG often scrap these applicants coming from MY people saying no opportunities in MY because they will categorize them as "want the shortcut".
I suggest you can say SG companies got more global exposure and network for career growth, assuming you are applying for a multi nation company in SG.

If applicant say want regional experience would that count? because SG has regional HQs that allow for travelling around Asia Pacific. Msia is only limited to the country office.

If you are real corporate person in certain industry u will be exposed to corporate industry exposure. If u tell a real corporate head hunting company about 3rd world don't have regional HQ they will laugh at you. Cambodia, Vietnam, indon also got. Is a matter of quantity.

Okay so i figured ill post an update. the interview ended. And they really did ask why Sg instead of MY.
So I told them SG have more glabal exposure, which is exactly what they listed in their SG and MY company website. Their SG site mentioned APAC region and listed few country such as Japan, Korea, Aus, NZ etc... whereas their MY site mentioned APAC region and listed Johor Bharu, Penang, KL etc
And so from then on the interviewer insisted that their KL office actually have the same global exposure as SG and keep mentioning that in his every single sentence after that...
Now saying SG having more global exposure than MY doesnt seems to be a good answer anymore
