Proton still have spare parts issue? I think the problem was during the pandemic time only

Pipul still complaint about aftersales though .

I want Tan Chong to succeed though, last time good repo if they not interested in Nissan give to good dealership, I think for potong I say HZN Engineering if capital big enough should take over Nissan cause among all potong 3S I feel HZN is one of the best la.

But TC based on old folks got good repo and history mcm trustworthy back then la , entire Segambut can see their mark so uts a shame if they deteriorate . Anyway whoever incharge of Nissan cars is doing a good job with the design dept and features

I see TCM, i run away especially their after sales and warranty. Not to mentioned many complaint TCM localized many parts and end up it low quality

I own serena C27 and X50. I would say TC SC more problematic

Their Almera is a great car, sporty, good torque, great handling, saves on FC.

Compared to TOYOTA...Nissan is a big joke.

as i said, no comment on the Almera car, it just the after sales, warranty, and technical support from TCM. Many complaint from past TCM user, especially from my buddies few own X-rail car last time. CVT kaput, all under warranty, TCM loves to play a hard ball games to claim warranty. need to fight almost months b4 at last they honor the new CVT. he straight away letgo his after repair. on FB group from Nissan model, same fate. After sales under TCM, questionable.

Ppl like to blame Tan Chong, but it's a regional problem. Nobody in this region actually wants Nissan. In Indonesia after sluggish sales, Nissan took over directly sales from the local distributor, and sell it themselves. They are now selling less Nissan in Indonesia than what Tan Chong is selling in Malaysia. That's how bad it is.

Why Nissan reputation became so bad? They used to be up very popular with their Datsun 120Y and Sunny in the 80s.

Nowadays, I think their X-trail and Serena only still got people buy.

Thanks to Renault, their reliability went down after that

They also released the decent 370Z during the Renault era. But yeah, most of their offerings are quite high end, and not many mid-range vehicles that can actually compete with Toyota/Honda in South East Asia. In Japan, they can somewhat make the numbers up with their kei-cars, but we don't have the same kei-car culture here. They don't have anything that is better than Vios/Yaris from Toyota, or City from Honda.

the latest Almera is arguably on par if not better than City or Vios.... its just back to the main issue of Tan Chong's lazy marketing, subpar aftersales and most importantly our market general mentality of not willing to step out from the comfort zone unless its something that offers more for significantly less

the only brand that could possibly make a major dent to H and T sales in the future would be a Chinese brand

Ironic that you mention suboar aftersales, as Nissan awarded Tan Chong best aftersales in this region last year. If Tan Chong is the best, you can expect how worse it is in other countries

i got no personal experience but tbh I've never seen anything good to come out from other people when it comes to TC's service lol

also the fact that Nissan is well known for their CVT issues and what's worse was they use it in literally every car save for a few high end ones
