This is regards to the Gliclazide Drug which taken by Diabetes patient in the morning before breakfast.


I would like to know the diffrence between the Diaglycon / Gliclazide 30mg which is given by the goverment hospital with the original Diamicron 60mg which is given by private hospital and being sold at the farmasi.

Both are the same medicine but the price differs a lot....

Is the Diamicron is more effective than the generic Diglycon eventhou they carry the same name. Is the gliclazide manufactured by Diamicron have betterdrug.

Diamicron - Rm 100+ 60 capsules - 2 month supply

Diglycon - Rm 10-20 - 2 month supply

No issue with generics. Just need to find out which generic company makes urs. No more patent then no point getting original. If ur glucose is controlled well then ure all good.

Diamicron is original made in France whereas digylcon is a generic form of the same medication.
Effect should be the same as it contains the same ingredient.
How's your sugar control with the generic medication? is it the same as the original?
