Hi all sifus, I'm currently renovating my newly bought home and am in the market for smart door locks. Contemplating between the two models below Xiaomi Automatic Smart Door Lock https://www.mi.com/global/product/xiaomi-au...mart-door-lock/Kaadas K9-5W https://www.kaadassg.com/product/kaadas-k9-5w-digital-lock/I'm leaning towards the Xiaomi as all of it's settings can be done in mi app while Kaadas have to key in manually with master pin code on the lock it self. On the other hand, not sure of the reliability on Xiaomi's lock as there's always mixed reviews on Mi's products. Not considering Yale because of it's price. Philips are basically a rebranded Kaadas. Samsung's fingerprint scanner position is inconvinient. Any one have first hand experience on both these locks? This post has been edited by TimothyKhoo: Jan 15 2024, 10:11 AM

QUOTE(cawan @ Jan 15 2024, 10:30 AM) try to look with Yale Digital Door. Yale look like more brand and security trust. As mentioned, Yale is out of my budget. The wifi kit have to be purchased seperately even.

Getting Started

|
Initially, I researched on Bosch and Yale for my grill and fire door's digital lock.
Then, I resorted to Nova Lock. Then I decided to go ahead with Nova Lock.
Review - Door Grill sometime faces issue on recognising the thumbprint. Which is why, it is very important to pre-register a few thumbs to be safe - Can be unlocked with app or apple watch
Generally, I am satisfied with the price i paid for this

Xiaomi door locks you have to use china region, so if your other smart devices are global version...it's a hassle.

Actually no need buy automatic ones. It waste more battery, more points for failure as more moving parts. I am using Aqara N200 for a few years now. To lock deadbolt just lift up the handle. Even if you dont do this, it is locked, you cant open the door. Very reliable. Zero issues for me. Battery last like 2-3 years.
