Currently on Maxis Postpaid 128 (140gb data pool) with 2 supp lines. I'm a medium data users (maybe 50gb a month) while the 1st supp line is light data user (less than 30gb) and 2nd supp line is super heavy data user. (80gb data).

Been thinking of saving cost by switching to Hotlink postpaid. What would be the best suggestions in terms of Hotlink postpaid plans? I prefer postpaid than thinking of reloading for prepaid

With regards to roaming, is Hotlink postpad roaming as wide coverage as Maxis Postpaid?

PS: prefer to stick with Maxis than switching to other Telco

Prepaid has auto top up and auto purchase plan nowadays, even more convenient than postpaid have to pay bills.

My plan now is Yes 5G, 25 a month for unlimited 5G and unlimited calls to any network

The subscription fee for Yes 5G’s FT5G Prepaid plan remains unchanged at RM30/month (RM25 if you enable autopay) and it still offers unlimited 5G data with no speed cap when used on the mobile device. It also offers unlimited 4G data that’s capped at 7Mbps with SD streaming. You also get unlimited calls to all networks and it still remains the most affordable 5G prepaid plan in Malaysia with unlimited data.

I'm considering doing the same, on Maxis 98 with one Maxis 48 shareline.

Can this be done online? Is it instant? Need to change SIM?

Main line to hotlink postpaid 60. First family line to hotlink postpaid 40. Second family line to hotlink postpaid 70.

Hotlink and maxis network coverage are identical I suppose. I’m not sure about international roaming though.

You may consider the following.
50gb a month = Hotlink postpaid 60. <30gb = Hotlink Postpaid 40. >80gb = Hotlink Postpaid 70 or maxis postpaid 79. Coverage wise Hotlink and Maxis in Malaysia is the same.
For roaming, check out Hotlink roaming passes here and compare it with your current Maxis postpaid.

Yes 5G? You have to think hard if your area does not have strong 5g coverage, because the 4g sucks. Not to mention you cannot make or receive calls if there is no 4g.

What I would suggest you maybe call 123 and ask them to convert the supp line number to Hotlink prepaid.

They will transfer your call to termination department and ask what's the reason.

Just say underutilised then they might give you rebate to sustain you.

U can get unlimited data for roughly RM40+- with caveat 3mbps/6mbps from Digi/Hotlink.
Slighty higher around RM60-RM70 can get Yes postpaid unlimited.

Best is give more details like usage for what apps?
Location, frequent moving/outstation?

Usage purely at outside or at home? Home no broadband?

Oh, didnt know prepaid now can auto reload monthly. perhaps can explore threatening to downgrade to hotlink prepaid to either get rebate or worst case, downgrade to hotlink prepaid with auto reload.

You are paying RM224 before SST.
Would like to suggest you to swtich to legacy digi family plan (still avail in Jan 24) at RM200 with unlimited calls and data (4g and 5g uncapped speed) and 300 SMS per line.

well if you are planning to stick with maxis, just call 123 and request to speak with retention department, then said u got better offer from other telco.

normally what they could do for you is something like RM 30 discount for a main line, and RM 20 discount for a supp line for 24 months without contract renewal.

so your 128 will become RM 98, and ur RM 48 supp line will become RM 28. bringing your total cost to RM 154 before SST.

after you got those discounts, then u can go to sign a device contract if you want, essentially more savings for you in some way.

last time when i did this, they have 3 separate offer for me to choose. the first one is the one that i posted above, where the other is converting your supp line to maxis 79 and get -RM 30, essentially adding RM 1 to ur supp line but they got their own quota of 160GB (80gb 4g/5g + 80gb 4g)

but do remember to activate 5g for free so u can enjoy the higher speed and give them a call to see what kind of offer you can get.
