I just came across this Hotlink Postpaid 40, and was wondering what's the catch with this? It seems to offer the same (or better) package as Maxis Postpaid Share 48 at a cheaper price. Plus, it means the principal line holder on Maxis can also downgrade to a plan without subline, hence saving money there too.

Maxis Postpaid Share 48
- RM48
- 30GB data pool
- unlimited calls/SMS

Hotlink Postpaid 40
- RM40
- 30GB data pool (+ additional 15GB data after 6 months)
- unlimited calls/SMS

Is the Hotlink Postpaid performance/stability/coverage etc inferior to Maxis Postpaid?

For me, I have Maxis Postpaid 98 + Maxis Postpaid Share 48 at the moment. Total monthly cost at RM146.

If I "downgrade" to Maxis Postpaid 79 and unbind my supplementary line to Hotlink Postpaid 40, my total cost will be RM119, equivalent to savings of RM27 per month or RM324 per year.

What am I missing? Or is this a no-brainer?
