Let say you been offered a job, then you sign contract with that co.

you go tender your resignation, then your co counter offer you?

1) If your co counter offer you > offer from new job, you don't have to go through the high risks of probation at new company and also you dont know the true working environment there. Whereas you know very well the job environment at current place, you know the culture and how the people there work.

So there is advantage of taking counter offer from current place.

2) What if you sign contract with that co, notice is 2 months, then you agree to take up the counter offer from ur current place? What would your new employer do to you? You go and talk to them nicely that you rejected the signed contract.

Would in most cases they will let go or take action against you? But one thing for sure that co and its group of co would black list you.

3) Or you obtain the contract offer letter pending your signature from new employer, you go to your boss and tell him that you will potentially quit in 1 day time. YOu will tender resignation tomorrow. See whether your boss will go to HR and big boss to try to nego with you for counter offer. If no response in 1 day, then next day you sign and send the contract to new employer. That's it, right?

Is step 3 a better strategy?
