Modes and Routine is a very powerful Samsung Feature.
*
Yes, you're absolutely right. Modes and routines are incredibly powerful features. I use them to automate my house lighting and to manage my phone, like changing modes and controlling charging.

Wanna ask, anyone here use the trade-in programme during pre-order S24?

If yes, wanna ask;

1. When the trade-in phone need to hand over?
2. What happen if sign-up for trade-in but after taken pre-order phone decided not to trade-in? Will the trade-in bonus need to return back to Samsung?
*
From my experience, I’d never recommend trading in with Samsung. They use third-party vendors, and the trade-in value is usually very low since they need to factor in their profit margins for resale. On top of that, you lose a lot due to the high depreciation value. The only exception is if the device value is lower than the bonus or voucher they’re offering—then it might be worth considering. Otherwise, you’ll likely get a better price by posting it on Lowyat’s Garage Sales page.

Anyone knows what can I do with my Samsung rewards point?

I have over 8000 points which will be expired next month, but there is nothing to redeem on the reward catalog.
*
You can use the points to get a discount on the Samsung website, either by converting them into cash value or redeeming any available vouchers.

i've never liked using SP since many years of owning smartphone from note 3 to note 7 days (the one that can go kaboom) to s7 edge to note 9 till s24 ultra...

these days phones have gorilla glass so not so worried. unless you put your keys in the same place where your phone is, cant see how it would end up in scratches
*
I wouldn’t recommend using your phone without a screen protector unless you’re always holding it carefully and making sure it doesn’t come into contact with anything like keys or coins. From my own experience, I’ve seen screens get scratched, and once that happens, the mark stays forever. If you’re curious about how scratchable it is, you can check out videos by JerryRigEverything.

Still, I strongly suggest using a tempered glass screen protector for extra protection it’s definitely worth it.

well i am really careful with it - been that way for so many years, and dont see a real need to be honest - didnt want to reduce the touch screen sensitivity or the fingerprint scanner either so smile.gif
*
Haha, good for you! Maybe I’ve got a bit of amychophobia because even a tiny scratch will bother me every single day. I’d rather see scratches on my tempered glass and know that my actual screen is still in perfect condition.

Still had 6 days to sign up, bought Samsung Care+ last night and it still says "Processing" this morning.

How long to wait before it gets activated?  I thought its something which is immediate?  Imagine if I bought it on the last day. sweat.gif

Sometimes it takes 3 days to 1 week. You will get an email with the receipt once it’s checked and completed

I have never realise that. Back then I always thought Samsung s-pen was king until I tried the notability then now everytime I attend event I use it. Even terrible handwriting the software can read what it. Omg. best is 1 click bad handwriting becomes text

You are right they put it in a very messy and confusion way. I usually have a habit clicking the model and select their package if any .To get that price you need press promo then only press the phone model or else it won’t show. It took me a few times to check to make sure. 256gb stock clear out within 2 hours last night

Saw a brand new S24 at 2399. Is it still worth getting at this price instead of the new S25 as the difference in upgrade is really minimal
*
If you ask me that price tag can find many other brands like Oppo, vivo, realms, one plus, Xiao mi. If samsung only worthy is their flagship the rest a lot alternative

Samsung phones tend to have lower resale values compared to some competitors for several reasons:

Rapid Release Cycle: Samsung frequently releases new models, which can lead to a quick depreciation of older models. Consumers often prefer the latest versions, which diminishes demand for previous iterations.

Apple-Like Marketing Strategy – Samsung often makes minor upgrades to its phones but rebrands them as completely new models. This slows down the perception of real innovation, making older models seem outdated faster and reducing their resale value.

Competition Within Android Market – Unlike Apple, which has no direct iOS competition, Samsung faces constant pressure from other Android brands like Google, OnePlus, and Xiaomi. This competition pushes prices down and makes it harder for Samsung phones to hold their resale value.

Market Saturation: The smartphone market is saturated with Samsung devices, making it harder for individual models to retain value. The abundance of options means that older models are often seen as less desirable.

High Initial Discounts: Samsung often discounts its phones shortly after release, which can set a lower baseline for resale values. When consumers see a new phone heavily discounted, it affects their perception of its value.

Brand Perception: While Samsung is a well-known brand, some consumers perceive Apple devices as more premium, which can influence resale values. Apple's ecosystem and brand loyalty often result in better retention of value.
Software Support: Samsung's software update policy, while improving, historically has not matched Apple’s in terms of longevity and consistency. Phones that receive fewer updates may be less appealing in the resale market.

Consumer Behavior: Many Samsung users tend to upgrade frequently, leading to a larger supply of used devices in the market. This increased supply can drive down prices.

Condition and Repairability: Some Samsung models, particularly those with glass backs and intricate designs, may be more prone to damage. Devices that are harder to repair or maintain can also see lower resale values.

These factors combine to create a market environment where Samsung phones generally depreciate more quickly than some other brands.
